the number calls frequently but never has anyone on the line when I answer.

Just got a call from these lowlives.  No response when I answered.

Called twice in the last two days, 8:00 and 8:30 pm, dead air when I picked up.

Phone rings two times and when I answer it there is dead air and nothing else.

It was Care First HMO. Called me tonight at 8pm EDT, let it ring once, then gone.

This number has called my phone many times. Finally answered. No one there.

Calls from this number are not wanted, nor is their voice message.1-

This number is from Carefirst Blue Cross/BlueShield

these guys have been calling me religiously, I live up in jersey. Never leave a voicemail and I have yet to answer.

Ditto. No one there. I hung up and then picked up the phone to do *69 and the dead air was still going-????

I received calls from this number identifying itself as "Your Health Plan" on my caller ID. Once they left a message mentioning my health insurance (not Care First)!

Keep getting calls from this number.  No one is ever there.

They call ENDLESSLY.  I finally picked the phone up:

Me: Hello

Them: May I speak with (my correct name given)?

Me: Can you please just remove me from you list?

Them: There is no list sir, this is your health plan calling to offer supplemental benefits...

Me: Can you please remove from being called with offers of supplemental benefits or anything regarding my health plan?

Them: Ok

Me: I shall look forward to never hearing from you again

Them: click...

Me: (thinking) Wonder how many hours or minutes before we repeat this conversation again

Everytime I pick up the phone there is no answer. When called back they say, thank you for calling you health care provider and nobody answers.

This number links to the company at this website they are making the calls www.healthways.com  you can call them back and opt out but they are very determined to find out your medical history.  If you ask me it is the ploy of the insurance company to try and find out your private medical history so that they can confirm or deny services to you.  Not something I want to participate in.  They do this service "health education courses they offer" for blue cross and at least one other insurance company.  They are very determined to glean information about your care and any possible or confirmed diagnoses.

Ok.. this is a response to one of the first posters. This company is NOT Carefirst, Blue Cross, Blue Shield.  I have verified that they are a company called Healthways (http://www.healthways.com/whatwedo.aspx?id=202&langtype=1033) by calling them directly.

I spoke directly to the first person who answered who answered as "Carefirst, Blue Cross, Blue Shield".  I said, "Please identify your company name again?"

She responded back with the same thing.

I said, "Aren't you actually Healthways.com" and she started stammering and stated.. "er... well, yes... we are"

I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said "Might I help you in some manner?"

I explained about them calling me for the past few months from the number 443-430-7201 and no one ever responds or leaves a message.  I told her I wanted to know if they were an affiliate of Blue Cross - and she said "Yes".  I said "So you're an insurance agency?"

"No... ummm we're a business associate"

So, "you lied to me twice, put your supervisor on now..."

Linda Kernen got on the line and I read her the riot act, told her I was tired of the incessant calls and I'd better be off the autodial list.  The other young lady had tried to explain they "had an old autodialer... etc"... I told Ms. Linda I do not accept idiotic explanations or lies.

She promised to fix the problem immediately.  I hung up, and twenty minutes later... the phone rings, caller ID gives me the above number I pick up and say "Someone needs to speak to me NOW..." and the line goes dead.

I call "Linda" back and tell her how I feel.  I explain I'm calling my CEO tomorrow (we have Bc/BS) and explaining what happened, then I'm filing a privacy complaint with Carefirst, and I'm contacting the FTC for ethics issues.

She thanked me for "being candid" with her and promised I'd not get any more calls.

However - I already filed the FTC complaint, and I will file a complaint with BC/BS on the way this so-called "business associate" is attempting to solicit business int he name of the insurance agency, and I will contact our CEO tomorrow and give him the scoop on all of this as well - and tell him if BC can't keep their so-called "associates" from making "ethics violations" perhaps he needs to look at another health insurance agency.

So- in response, this is NOT Carefirst, AT ALL.  They are attempting to use the NAME of the company in an effort to solicit business for themselves.
