got a call from this number stating I needed to make a statement for a file for some kind of complaint. Caller also stated that file was on final review and if I didn't make a statement that it was going to the complainant. what the hell is this crap. cant we stop this crap????

Retrieval Mediation.  Saying I owe a payday loan...SCAM!!  I now have 8 numbers block from these idiots!

I had the same call as Becky. They say I owe a payday loan. I know I don't, but they make it sound very real because the recording calls and leaves the number for you to call. It's the same guy and girl that I talk to. I tell them to do what they have to do and I will be waiting on my supposed Summons from the court. But the scary part is that they do have some of my personal information. Don't verify anything!!

These people have been harassing me for months saying i owe money on a loan i never opened.do not verify any information. put them on your blocked callers list.

These people have left messages on my home phone, my daughter's cell phone, and my work phone. I filed a complaint just this morning with the FTC, and reported them to the BBB as well. Not sure what good it will do.  I don't owe any money, either.  They have no website, and if you search Retrieval Mediation on the web, you come up with dozens and dozens of complaints about these people.  If there is a hell, there's a special section reserved for these [***].

Long history of scamming on 800notes.  Retreval Mediation--phantom company, but most likely located overseas.  Ignore and block their calls.

I've been getting phone call from these people since February.  They also call my 2 daughters, and my mother.

They say I have an outstanding payday loan back in 2009.  They threaten to take me to court.

My latest call today (9-28-15) stated that they have filed with my county courthouse.  I have asked them every. single.  time. to see me documents through the mail which they have said they don't have because the case has been forwarded to them.   I figure if they can't prove to me in writing on letterhead then this is a scam.

Plus, the address they have on me is old.  Wouldn't you known that.

I just wish they would quit harassing everyone.  This is getting old!!@

My mom got a call from these jerks the other day.   This man had her in tears,  he was unrelenting in his methods.    Finally,  my mom told him that she was going to forward this information to her attorney,  and she did.   She gave the guy the phone number to contact her attorney.   No further contact from these scamming a$$es

Keep getting calls regarding a outstanding pay day loan - told them didn't have any loan. Said it was from 2009. I told them that any loan was discharged in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy to lose my number or I would sue them. Said they would take me off the list and is still calling for the same thing. another number to add to my list...they actually work from home, attempting to scam us out of our hard earned money, saying i owe things i do not owe on accounts i never opened. one time they even told me "well it was opened in YOUR name so that makes you responsible" ha! like hell it does! do not verify any information. just report each time that you can. i have at least ten numbers, and now they are calling my HOUSE not just my cell phone. Just got a call from this number they have been blowing up my phone. I told the lady one more call and I am contacting a attorney and she hung up on me.

I have no idea why they keep calling me. They already said they were sending the police to my job and they have yet to show up. I keep telling them to go head and send the police to get me.I tried to give them my attorney information and they hang up on me. They keep calling from different numbers and I've forwarded 3 voice mails to my attorney's office and he advised yes this is a SCAM for sure.

They keep calling you because they are criminals trying to steal money from you and want to wear you down.  The fact that you told them you were represented by an attorney means that they must stop contacting you and only talk to him.  They are ignoring that because they wouldn't be able to steal from you with him involved.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Many of these scamming groups are located overseas and thus are beyond the reach of US law.  Invest in a call blocker.

I received a call today. I didn't answer. The recording same the same old stuff. The funny thing is the recording was in one voice and when it was time to say my name and the number it was in a completely different voice...unfortunately I fell for this before and paid almost $1000 (that I didn't have). After some research I realized I was scammed and that there was no way to get the money back. Now I'm getting all sorts of these phone calls all of the time. Just so frustrating!!!
