get a call every day around 3 pm i was home to day answered the call they listen and went clink called the number they said it is not a working number

Rec'd call from 443-531-6173 at 8:00 last night. Caller ID said Unavailable so I didn't answer. They did not leave a message. I searched the internet & found it is a Cricket cell phone from Baltimore MD, unlisted.

Rec'd call at 4.20 pm. My husband answered and nobody responded. I am on DNC list. Another annoying spammer! I just blocked the number.

We didn't pick up, and no message was left. Caller ID says "Unknown Name".

Apparently the government has failed in stopping unwanted calls this number calls every day either my phone line or my parents phone line we don't answer it because it says unknown or unavailable i have constantly searched different numbers and read posts that these are scamming numbers we got a call from the bank and they never said they would call or offer us things without asking us via snail mail and having us come in

The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities and companies with preexisting business relationships, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list  is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.

Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The first thing to do is buy a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.

If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.
* If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.

Got a call from this number at 4:01pm today and they called and said nothing then it went click.  I called the number back maybe four hours later and it said it was a cricket number that was no longer available.  What makes it so strange is I see that this number has a history based on the information provided by the other users who posted on this site.

This  makes NO sense.  Everyday I receive a call from this number, I do mot answer and they leave no message.  So why bother calling/  It is extremely  annoying and interrupts anything that the average person might be doing

Called 6/23/14 @12:43 pm, has called several times and left no message so I blocked them with my Panasonic phone.

received call from this number at 4:19 pm on saturday 9/13/14.  did not answer as it did not show any caller id.   i have since blocked this number on my iphone.

I received a call last night from 443-531-6173, they asked for my daughter by name. The name that came up on the caller id was Tyefon McCullou, when I googled the name, nothing came up. The person who asked for my daughter seem rather disappointed that she wasn't there. They called around 7:30pm. I contacted my daughter to see if she knew who it was, she had no clue.

Some illiterate person asked for someone that was not associated with my number and then silence. There ought to be a law

Woman claimed to be from Md Democratic Party wanted to talk about the election. Told her it was none of her business and hung up.

Please realize that political calls do not fall under the DNC.  What you need to do is tell them you do not want to receive their calls, and make sure you do a opt out with all the political parties.  Then, if you receive calls, go that persons web site and under their contact us page, write them and tell them to place you on their internal dnc list and also there is a political do not call you can sign up for. I did and also tell them to use that list and give them the url for it. I have not gotten any calls for years now.  Not even political survey's.  So it does help to follow the steps.

The other thing that will help, if you have a cell phone, if it doesn't already have call blocking, there are free call blocking apps online you can get for some phones. If you have a land line, google call blocking devices. There are phones also available with call blocking but they do not hold as many numbers as devices do. Many of the devices run around 60.00

A law against getting a wrong number?

Person said they were calling on behalf of Anthony Brown, I asked if she could pronounce my name correctly, she said "[***] I'm doin' da best I can, den don't answer yo goddamn phone".... I told her she was a good representative for Anthony Brown and she hung up on me....Ghetto trash
