Called at 8:12 am.Came up on caller id as Discount Center.Caller said she was calling for donations for children with cancer .

Whoever called, called at 8:01AM and did not leave a message since I didn't answer. The caller ID said "Discount Center". Tried to call back but got a recording saying "this number is no longer in service".  How could that be since I just received an unwanted wake-up call from these creatures?

These people are SCUM and have NOTHING to do with any actual charity having anything to do with treating children with cancer.  Do yourself two favors.

1. If you really want to help children with cancer, donate to the Ronald McDonald House at ANY McDonal's.

2. Point your browser to www.digitone.com and order one of their Call Blockers.  These devices are fantastic, loaded with features, easy to install and use, and they are the BEST $100.00 you will ever spend.

This company is NOT scum. We donate children's items to them frequently. They come to our house on a designated day to pick the items up and they always leave a paper with tax deduction information. I love donating to them!

Called this afternoon from this number.
The charity itself only got 2 out of 4 stars at Charity Navigator. The associated marketers apparently are scum.

I will gladly second Harry's recommendation for the DigitOne call blocker. Bought one after the elections and worth every penny and then some. It's become my favorite tech tool.

It's so nice that you defend them but they do not scream integrity or reliability when they refuse to leave a message or when you call back it says the number is disconnected. If your company is so legitimate you shouldn't have to hide behind some company called Discount Center or refuse to leave a message or have to be subjected to rude personnel when you try to get information pertaining to the charity that they are supposedly representing.

Professional fund raiser for Children's Cancer Fund (or something similar).  I do not donate to unexpected calls .  I've blocked the number, I'm sure they'll be calling back

I received a call from this number at *8:30 Am (443-873-1528.  I work tonight and double back in the morning.  Usually when someone hears a groggy voice they apologize.  This person was extremely rude and to call befoe 9:00 am is unexcusable.

I just posted the above note..I have just called the BBB...the number listed as 443-873-1528...Children's Cancer does not wish to share information with the BBB and therefore may not give the entire donation to said organization..also the American Cancer Foundation was notified and they stated they always refer to themselves as The American Society not the AC Foundation.  They would not call that early and be rude.

Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation has always been close to fraud because so little of the money they collect actually goes to the cause they support. Charitynavigator.org always rated them very poorly.

Number is from Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation.  According to Charity Watch's Charity Raiting Giuide the group got an F rating for poor.  Unless you clearly know the organization, never give over the phone.  If you are interested in giving to the organization, request they provide you information on their work by mail and you will consider them.  If you are interrested in giving money to help the less fortunate and feel good about helping, you might want to consider PlanG.org which lists over a million non-profits.

September 25th, 8:30 am.  I received a call from Discount Center, the operator call Vanessa hanged up on me while I was explaining to her that the person she is trying to reach has Alzheimer. I found a link to block them and I happily did it, it is not polite to make calls before 9 and it is unprofessional to hang up on people like that and I would not want to have anything to do with this company.

Here it is 8:30p and Discount Center comes up on my phone. Usually I dont answer these kind of calls and so late in the evening. She asked for me by name and I told her she was speaking to Lorie. And she went on this loud presentation of who she was and I got even  louder and talked over her and told her dont be calling my house this late at nite! I knew damn well these people were full of crap cause they have called before. I hate these people. Bunch of thieves and liars!

They called at 8:05am and didn't leave a message. We are on the Do Not Call List. This is very annoying and I wish it would stop.

We rec'd call today..........Lady asked for my lhusband and then she claimed to be from The Children's Cancer Fund wanting a donation........We have supported an organization for many years that we know to be legitimate and we know the professionals and medical personnel of that organization.  However, she knew my husband's name.  We only support The Children's Cancer Foundation and no other group has the right to try and con people into thinking they are the same group.  Will keep an eye on this one for sure!!!

Received a call this evening - no name on caller ID just the phone # - woman asked for my husband by
name and when I asked who was calling, there was silence.  There also was a call earlier - woman asked
for my husband by name - when I asked, she asked to speak to someone who had made a pledge - I said
no one in our household many any kind of pledge - she hung up.  Hopefully I do not get the same call
at 8:30 in the morning.

Was called @0805 this morning asking for donations for Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation. What is the purpose of complaining if nothing is done?
