- Not Again| 1 replyDon't take any calls from these people. It's a SCAM. He claims to be a DEA Agent. DEA would never call you and demand money. This scam has been going around for 1.5 years.
- Caller: Fake DEA James Copper
- jack| 8 repliesReceived a call from a man (Nigerian accent) claiming to be DEA Special Agent Anthony Williams regarding diet pills medicine being purchased from another country over the intrawebs, which never happened to begin with Google search did pull up agent Williams but after a few moments on the phone the man is clearly not a DEA agent. Obviously trying to get info, most likely for credit scam through intimidation by threatening to throw someone in jail. [***] had erroneous info but was def fishing.
- Caller: ***SCAM***
- jack replies to jacklooked up scam, they want you to wire $ for a "fine" to avoid jail. http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/pubs/pressreleases/extortion_scam.htm
- victim too replies to jack| 4 repliesI just received the same voice mail from supposed DEA Agent Anthony Williams, calling from 510-725-4757. Before calling him, I did research on line and discovered the scam. I left a vm at the govt. hotline # regarding the voice mail. I decided to call the jerk back on my cell phone and blocked my # so he couldn't get my caller i.d. I told him I was returning his call, gave a fake name, and told him he should know I am a police officer. He insisted he was a DEA agent. I asked if he was based in Oakland. He said San Francisco. I laughed and told him he had the wrong area code for San Francisco. I asked for the main number of his DEA office so I could call him and be transferred to him properly. He got really angry, said something strange and I hung up. I sure hope that I'm not bothered by him again, and I hope these posts prevent others from being harrassed, threatened and/or scammed out of their money!!
- victim-not quite replies to victim tooI also received the same call as you decribed. After researching I called the San Francisco DEA office and they told me immediately that this was a scam. I have also reported the incident. When I didn't answer repeated calls from the 510 number, I then received a call from the 443 number.
- Got "SCAM" Call Too!| 1 replyJust received a voice message from Anthony Williams, DEA Agent, calling from 510-725-4757. Said it was urgent I call back immediately!!! Pure Horse S**t!!! Please don't ever fall victim to any caller who claims to be with a federal agency demanding anything monetary from you... NO Federal Agent will call you on the phone... EVER!
- foiled again replies to victim too| 2 repliesI received the same message on my home phone. The first fishy clue to me is that I rarely use my home phone number for anything. I use my cell phone and the fact that someone was asking for me on my home voicemail was strange. The only calls I get on my home number are solicitors. Anyway, there would be no reason why I would get a call from DEA so decided to do a search for Anthony Williams on the Internet. What do you know...there is one. Pretty convenient there happens to be a Anthony Williams (special agent no less) at DEA. Then, seeing your posts solidified my suspicions. Thanks for sharing. Looks like he was foiled yet again!
- carlyMy mom got a call from Anthony D Williams, saying they had a warrant for her arrest for smuggling pain killers & weight lose from another country! Said they knew her name and address and a cop was coming to get her!
- michelle714-409-3992 was the number he used to call me. Same exact scenario. Anthony D Williams, DEA agent. Warrant for my arrest unless I paid $1200.
- Mauricio| 2 repliesI Just recieved a message from this Anthony Williams, claiming the same thing, that there was a warrant for my arrest and that I would have to spend the weekend in jail. I'm being charged for buying illigal drugs from the Dominican Republic.
I'm supposed to be facing 3.5 to 7yrs in federal pirson, but it seems like if I pay $1500 I would resolve the issue.
The # that I got the call from was 410-609-6964- Caller: DEA Aledgely
- John replies to MauricioI am an attorney in Chicago, Illinois who received a phone call from a client who was contacted by "DEA Agent Mark Taylor", badge #7458 in District #39. My client was given the same demand and decided to contact me to verify the matter. I called the phone number and identified myself as the attorney for this individual and the "Agent Taylor" started to give me the same [***] and I told him that not only did I contact a friend at the Justice Department in DC, but also the Attorney General's Office in Illinois and forwarded all the information to them as they did not have any such listing for the DEA in San Francisco. As you can imagine the immediate response from him was to hang up. So, do not fall for this scam and take the time to let all family and friends know of the existence of the scam....more importantly, contact the Attorney General of whatever state you reside in and also the Department of Justice.
- anonymous replies to Not AgainTHIS IS AN EXTORTION SCAM. Scammers pretend to be law enforcement (police, sheriff, Feds, AG's Office, fake cop agencies with made-up names) and may be using bought/hacked/phished loan application data to extort money or personal info for fictitious crimes.

The number came up on my caller ID as 410-609-6964. I am so glad I researched this before calling this guy back or I never would of known this was a scam.
- ShannonJust got a call from 443-977-4514 asking for my husband. Told them I was his wife and could I help them. Said he was a DEA agent, don't remember the name and there was a warrant for my husbands arrest. I said yeah, right there is. He said there was and it was very serious. Told him my sisters boyfriend was a DEA agent and I would ask him and if there is in fact a warrant I will have my husband turn himself in. Said that since HE was the one looking for him, my husband must call him. Yeah right, I said since when does the DEA notify you that there is a warrant for your arrest. Told him that if he could give me the address where he was I would have my husband come to him and turn himself in within the hour. The guy said we really need to talk to him and hung up. C'mon, you're calling from a cell phone to tell me he has a warrant. Right again...SCAM!

- ScammedReceived a call from a man with a heavy latin accent. He claimed that he was a DEA Special agent. He said that I was being subpoenaed for ordering medication online, that I should expect to be in prison for the weekend and that I face 3-5 years in jail. A**hole.
Funny thing is that, for the past year, I received calls, almost daily, from people trying to sell pharmaceuticals. These calls have strangely stopped in the past weeks and this scam happens. I guess they sold off their database of phone numbers.

- Concerned PersonHappened today to my Son.
- James E FowlerCaller identified himself as a DEA agent who had a warrant for my arrest for purchasing drugs without a prescription. When I asked the Warrant Number and his badge number, he would not respond.> He said the DEA officers would be at my home shortly to arrest me. I told him that was ridiculous. I hung up and called my Local and State Police who have been alerted to my situation. I told them that if someone showed up in my driveway in NH that didn't have DEA tags or emblems, they would be met with a hail of gunfire. The police told me this was OK.
Don't play into this guys game. He apparently changes his trow-a-way cellphone regularly- Caller: Unsure
