I received a call from this number and they left no message(s). Considering the phone scams going around, I do not want to call the number back to avoid incurring some unnecessary long distance expenses

Had several calls from this number but no messages left. Called back. It's Portfolio Recovery collections.

Glad to see someone ID'd the caller. Portfolio Recovery is one of the worst bottom-feeding scumbag collection outfits that exists. They will buy "debts" that have been written off or are beyond the statue of limitations then try to intimidate you into paying a "debt" that you do not owe. Never, and I mean NEVER talk with these criminals. The moment you give even the slightest hint that there 'may have been' an issue 'years ago' you've blown it. They will not go away. I use a call-blocker that permits only my "whitelisted" callers. Portfolio Recovery has been successfully blocked 100% for over 3 years now - and I'm talking in the neighborhood of 10-25 calls per week. I stopped counting when I recorded over 30 different numbers for them.

THANKS FOR THE POST....Had received a collection notice for a small bill that is over 10 years old...now they are calling....
