- PG| 2 repliesGot a call this morning. When I called back, there was no answer, or voicemail.
- zycoSame here. Nothing.
It must be the "newest scam" using the "newest scam phone number" because we are starting a new thread on this number.
Just be careful you do not get charged for your call back to them. That seems to be the new thing. Sometimes best to not even call back. - nick| 1 replyI have answered they claim to be a civil procedure department. they have been calling my phone looking for my numbers previous owner. when you tell them not to call, or that you are not the person they are looking for they just hang up. I have called back as well to talk to a supervisor and no answer . so annoying as this happens daily
- Caller: "civil procedures department "
- Rich| 3 repliesCalled wanting to know if will be home to have papers served. I just hung-up.

- annonymous replies to RichReceived two calls from this number, I do not answer calls for numbers I do not know or anyone who does not leave a message. Seems like a scam, people do not call to let you know they are serving papers on you. It seems like an extortion method to get you to pay money. Call your local Police Department and save the message and report to them or you local Attorney General, Sheriffs Department. If you get a call from them again, give them the numbers for local PD, Sheriffs Department and Attorney General's office. File a complaint with the FTC online.
- anonymous2Been receiving calls from this suppose " Civil Service "Agency almost everyday for several weeks now. They are looking for a person named Rebecca Carter. I've had my cell phone number for 9 years. & I can tell you my name is not nor has ever been Rebecca Carter. I keep telling them to stop calling this number and they call everyday and never leave a voice message. it's always a different person, sometimes mail sometimes female. When they ask for Rebecca Carter and I tell them I'm not her, they ask if I know her or how to contact her. I'm not sure if this is legit or not. I also received a voicemail a month ago from a separate Sheriff's Department in Texas for this person. So I'm not really sure what's going on. When you call back there is no answer. I am frustrated! I've had this number for almost a decade and am currently job hunting for a new career, I have lots of resumes out with my current phone number and don't want to change my phone number at this time... Very frustrating!
- Caller: civil service agency
- Rich G4694582415 from Dallas TX but they didn't leave a message.

- MattSame here, very strange. Just this afternoon. Aggressive voice.
- annoyedThese people had been calling from a Los Angeles number, 323-393-4028, claiming the same thing: Civil Procedures Department, claiming that "legal papers" were being served to someone here who I have never heard of.
It is a SCAM. I have reported the previous number to the FTC, the Do Not Call registry and, most importantly, my State Attorney. Anyone receiving these calls should also do the same. It is VERY important that we all report these people. Should the calls continue, call the police. This is, after all, harassment.
And please do not bother wasting your time reporting them to the BBB or some other pointless for profit group, it NEEDS to be with your state's attorney. No other group will actively investigate this.
These people are horrible. They take advantage of people during these tough times. They will call constantly and harass you and demand money to make the calls stop. They might even threaten you with arrest, but please understand that they have no power to make this happen. You do not get arrested for debt, even if the calls were real.....but trust me, they are FAR from real. They are just another illegal group out to steal your money through lies and intimidation.
FIGHT BACK! Let them know that you are on to them and REPORT them to your state attorney AND the FTC! These people are frightened rabbits who hide behind phones and anonymity and are too scared to earn a living in a decent, legal and honest way. They need to be stopped and only we can do it!- Caller: Civil Proceedings Division
- DMA lady called stating that she was with Civil Legal Procedures and they were going to be out to serve legal papers on one of our employees. Wanted me to confirm that the employee would be here from 8am to 5pm. I told her we don't give our employees work schedules out. She asked to speak to our Human Resources Department. I transferred her......Surprise, surprise....she hung up the phone. These people are a total waste of time. They need to get a real job and quit wasting my time.
Phone number shows up as Dallas, Texas, not sure if this is where these calls are orignating from.- Caller: Civil Legal Procedures
- Over it!| 1 replyContinually getting calls from a Civil Procedures Department advising me they will be out tomorrow to serve papers. They always ask if this is Alice Anderson. I've asked repeatedly to remove my phone number, as I don't know any such person. They continually call while I'm at work and everyone who's called is either nasty or hangs up on me. Following is their phone number:
I'm about to contact the Attorney Generals office. I'm over it!- Caller: Civil Procedures Department
- worried| 1 replygetting calls from number for couple months now,,,asking for a person i dont even know they just dont know when to quiting calling....
- annoyed replies to Over it!YES! You really should inform your state attorney. The form is only 2 pages, takes about 5 minutes to fill out and it is the best chance for something to be done about these "people". I have complained to my state's attorney and have informed these so called "civil proceedings division" scum that I have told the state attorney and they hang up and tend to not call again. The FTC and Do Not Call Registry is also a good place to complain to, but only the state attorney will actively follow up complaints.
- annoyed replies to worriedSorry, but worrying about it won't help. You need to actively complain and report these people.
Inform the FTC and, if you are on it, report them to the Do Not Call Registry.
Most importantly, though, you need to report them to your state attorney. It is a very easy procedure and will give the best chance of anything being done.
These people will not go away. Nor will they simply stop calling. We all need to be active in trying to shut them down. And next time they call, make sure you let them know that you are on to them and that you have reported them. - AGAVE| 1 replyI don't know if it really does any good to complain!!! I have called, emailed the states attorney in my city/state, the FTC, BBB, Attorney General of the United States, FBI, etc. I have also transferred these types of calls to my local sheriff's office and the city police department. I am not sure why the government can't do anything about these people - they are in all of my other business, why can't they take care of this? I have really had it but believe me when I tell you, these people don't scare me one bit; if they want to serve me with 'papers' let them (it will never happen). By law, these types of things should NEVER happen. No discussion of one's personal business should ever be handled in this manner. In the meantime, I will continue to send complaints to the above mentioned agencies.
- BrickWall!I have also been receiving calls from this number for the last year, these people are really rood! I have answered the call several times and they also have threatened me with sending some one out with paper work. I Believe they are a collection agency, they asked for my brother I have told them at least three times he past away in 2011. The caller then accused me of lying. Really? I asked why are you calling me? He said my brother put me down as a reference number, I got upset and said if you need to send paper work then send them to Willamette National Cemetery. Just because someone used me as a reference doesn't make me liable.. He said didn't your momma teach you any manners and hung up on me. A few weeks ago this lady called from the same number and I told her that my brother is no longer with us again and she said I will make sure you don't receive anymore calls, today they called again and I missed the call and yes when you call them back no one answers...

- still annoyedWaiting on word from the state attorney's office.
It had been a few days since they called after they slowed down after I told them about my complaints and that I know it is a scam. This time, it was "Amy Allen" calling looking for the same person who is unknown at this number. Instead of telling them to not call and that I have reported them, this time I just asked her a lot of questions: confirm name, company, location....she asked why I wanted to know and I told her that I was keeping a log of all these calls. She promptly hung up.
All I can think to do now is report them to the cops....they're the only people I haven't reported them to! These are, after all, unwanted and harassing phone calls.
These are some of the worst people around. They are open criminals. Shameless thieves. It is amazing how they can openly break the law. They used to call from a Los Angeles number but those calls stopped. Now it is this Dallas number.....same script, same wrong name, same garbage. The woman even gave the same name as a previous call from the Los Angeles number.
This is all so ridiculous now.
Complaining to the correct government departments might not provide immediate results, but it can help in the long run and has to be better than nothing.- Caller: Civil Proceedings Division
- annoyed replies to AGAVEI know it might seem like no good is coming from complaining to the relative government departments, but it HAS to be better than nothing. There might not be an immediate result and, let's face it, there might not be ANY result! But we have to try. The more people who DO complain, the more likely something good might come of it.
I wish that EVERYONE who was receiving these calls would report them....reporting them MIGHT not help, but sitting idle and just hoping for the best will DEFINITELY NOT help.
Good to read that you will continue to report them. I know it can be a pain but it is all we can do...sadly.
I also continue to log complaints, hoping for the best....annoyingly though, these calls will probably just fizzle out, rather than be shut down as whatever this company is moves on to their next scam. - aincoThe next time they call just tell them to change their number because their scam is posted all over the web.

- Sick & Tired| 2 repliesI just received another call from this number 469-458-2415. They asked for a Dawn McLead, whom I do not know and tell them this repeatedly. They told me they were coming to my house to serve her and I told them to bring it on, we are locked and loaded!!! I am getting call block, because I have filed with my state attorney and they seem not to be interested in doing anything. Bigger fish to fry, I suppose.
