Unsolicited call, no msg. Called back later, recording:
"Thank you for calling. If you'd like to be placed on a Do Not Call list ...".
    I hung up.

Call me, I did not answer.  I called back from a different phone from my office.  Lady in cust. svc answered and asked me if i was interested in losing weight.  I said how can you call me when I am on the DNC list.  She replied that if I inquired online, that "over rides" the DNC list.....what ever.  I never inquired about anything online.  The DNC list is bull***t.

I find some of the remarks posted about these ‘faux telemarketer calls’ amusing.  I put together a software program that has logged over 380 of these nuisance calls since 2012.  Those of you that let the calls roll to your answering machine, voicemail or worse yet answered the call you have just ensured you will get another of these calls.  Maybe not from the same number, but they’ve just identified your number as valid and passed it on.  Most of the initial calls originate from software (aka; ‘robocalls’) – once your number is identified as active, then a person may be there on the follow up calls.  If you have the capability to ‘block’ the number that called – that is the best action.  If you don’t have a blocking option, keep a phone with caller ID close by and simply hit ‘talk’ and ‘off’ simultaneously.  This will reduce the number of nuisance calls, but not stop them.  If you really want to block them – there is software available that a layman can install.  Of the 380 calls I’ve blocked, only 16 have been in the last 6 months.  So the message is simple – blocking works….
PS:  I think Call Notes should add a 'Call Type' for 'Spoof' or 'Scammer Calls'!

Called yesterday at 9:40 Caller ID SERVICE CARE.
It is a robot call and therefore the phone only rang once.
Because I use the free service (anytime I spell it out, the "post pending moderator approval" shows up and stays on for days)
So, just put an O behind every letter below and you will know the service I use.  Free.  Stops call after 1 ring if robot.
At least it saves me a trip to the phone to check the Caller ID for being a call I want to take.  I have maxed out AT&T's 20 slot blocker (give me a break.  20?)  My phone only has 30 slots.  "They" need to get serious about helping us block these call.  We should be able to block entire area codes.  Or states.

goodie, I have maxed out my blocks on my phone line too.  I now have to use the block feature on my Panasonic phones.......but it still rings once.   If my land line service doesn't start giving me more block access (do not call list is so bogus), I'll cancel my land line.
