I called the number back and it told me the magic jack customer I called was unavailable. lol if this was a professional office they would not be using magic jack.

Magic jack posing as sheriff department, would not say which one, asking for george smith, bogus call

called saying that they were going to serve me court papers for a civil & criminal case which I do not have one any where, they also said they would try to get them to hold off on sending them to me. Phone disconnected it sounded like a scam and they keep calling back.

Calling my mother for me apparently, court suit, going to pick me up, yadayada. Calling her number and I haven't lived there for over 30 years. She is 84!! Told her to report it to her phone company. She wrote down the "case number" so now they call her 40 times a day!!! Says UPS like other posts. Never leaves a message but she keeps picking up and telling them to "Quit Scaming Me".

This is a collection scam.  They call people for a good old fashioned "shake down".  They read some script saying that the sheriff will deliver documents.  The sheriff is not a delivery service.  Also, if this was a valid collection service, they must first notify you in writing.  They never leave a message.  I have received almost 10 calls in the last 2 days.
