This is probably a Debt Collector spoofing caller ID to show Texas Faternal Order of Police instead of the actual originating station.  You are likely to have gotten calls the same day from other known Debt Collector's numbers.

these people -if they are the Frat.Order of Police -  sometimes they use Texas FOP, today was just the phone number -   have called a few months back, and I traced them online to South Texas area.  so maybe they are now in Dallas area also.  
I found out by whocalledus.com  last year.    I don't pick up the phone (unlisted number BTW !) if I don't know who is calling.  there is never any recorded message from these guys. I did read they are phoneys  looking for "Donations"  I ignore them.

Caller ID said "Texas Fop".  The Texas Fraternal Order of Police is a scam operation to con you out of your money.  They are not associated with any police department.  They use various phone numbers, many of them beginning 469-718-06xx, including 469-718-0659.  Put their numbers on your blocked calls list.  I use software that answers the call on one ring, squeals, then hangs up on block list numbers.  It can use wildcard characters in identifying the numbers, so I block any number starting 469-718-06xx.

I spoke with a police officer in my community and he says they don't do things this way.  You might get something in the mail asking for donations or whatever, but they never solicte over the phone.  Who in their right mind would give anyone their personal info over the phone????  Never, never do that!!!!!

I also got a call from this number, but the funny thing was is that is was to my fathers home. They identified themselves as the fop but would not leave a message etc. I have no idea how they could have got the number to my father considering  he has recently changed numbers and Ive never given that number to anyone for anything.

About 28 year-ago, I was deperate for a job and answered an ad for telemarketers.  I was handed cut-out pages from my local city directory and told to call everyong on the listing using prewritten script for communication.  Others in the pool used out-of-town directories. I was shown a contract that revealed a 6% cut of the donations going to the "Texas Fraternal Order of Poliice Officers"--I asked why the amount going to the orginization was so low.  They didn't like the question.  I quit after about one week.  The Web is a great eyeopener but it did not exist back then. I still wonder how they manage to escape prosecution.  It would not surprise me to find out that the persons who may have incubated the scam are directly or indirectly responsible for the current propagation of what appears to be the same. My apologies to all that I called during that embarrassing week.

they asked for the lady of the house first time I said she wasn't in ,second time I asked who exactly by name they were looking for ,they couldn't tell,if someone is calling my home and doesn't even know my name its real dodgy!!

They called and asked for the lady of the house.  I told them if they didn't know my name then obviously they didn't need to be calling me and I hung up.

Got a call from 14897180644 with caller ID as Texas FOP...FOP is Faternal Order of Police I imagine...researched the number and was made aware that it is a scam...
