Jim - 2 Apr 2008I knew it was one of those calls but I answered it anyway. Most of the time there is no one there and I hang up. I was surprised to have a female voice claiming to be from T-Mobilr and telling me my phone number had been selected for a free phone and plan. I told her I already had a phone and she said thank you and hung up. She sure gave up easy.

I have been getting calls from this number many times a day in the Toronto,Ontario area. I know its a crap call but it comes in so often that sometimes I answer it but no response even when sometimes I can't help myself and start shouting into the receiver. I guess from all the posts on this there is just nothing anyone can do about it except try and ignore it...............???????????????????

fedup - 17 Apr 2008have received 9 calls today from this number, finally someone was at the other end who advised they were from Telus based in Scarborough, Ontario and offering me a free phone and then wanted my personal info which I refused to give. Immediately called Telus who advised that it is a scam and not to give out any info. I advisesd Telus that they should post info on their website as I am a customer and have been for a number of years.

would not like to provide my name - 22 Apr 2008I just got a call from this number and when I picked up the receiver all I heard was a male voice saying "um hum" as though he were speaking to someone else in the background.
I waited about 30 seconds (repeating hello a couple of times) and then asked "could you please tell me who is speaking?" The caller then hung up.
I dialed *69 [which costs me money on my phone bill -- about $1.25 after tax] to find out who had called me. Although I was provided with the number when offered the option of pressing '1' to be directly connected [again something which usually costs me money on my phone bill] I was told that I could not reach the caller by this means.

would not like to provide my name - 22 Apr 2008I believe I just received another call from these people. Once again (at the end of the call) there was a male voice saying "um humm" as if clearing his throat or in agreement with someone in the background or bored -- waiting etc.
But in the background I could clearly hear all the noise from a telemarketing operation with someone asking another caller if he or she could "help them out with $5". At this point I turned down my television set to hear more.
I am particularly bothered by this (as are all the other posters) because I get calls from one place or another all day long but the hang-ups are the worst.
And one of the websites I belong to had a person I would really like to speak to whose headline was changed to "Is this thing working? Hello. Hello." That is basically what I had been saying on the phone too.
Because we had a falling out I sincerely hope he too wasn't getting this type of call, somehow thought it was me, and then called me to hang up. I know that sounds complicated but we tended to tit for tat a bit in our posting online.

justin - 22 Apr 2008got a call today. i live in toronto, canada. They Guy's name was James, he said that he was calling from TELUS and I was selected for a free cellphone package... I asked why he was using this # and he re-assured me that it was a secure line. He then gave me his number as 905-260-7289. Tried calling but it appears to be long distance... I asked for an employee ID and he said he couldn't give it to me.. I told him that I would call telus mobility head office to see if he actually works there and then he hung up.

wahooduo - 28 May 2008For months we have been receiving calls from 471-320-0100. We are wise enough to not pick up the phone, but it extremely annoying to have the phone ring with bogus calls like this one.
