Possible shipping scam number on a roommate ad off of craigslist.

I had the same contact going by Pauline Richards. What name was given to you?

pauline richards has been contacting me about a room for rent. she has poor texting language- possibly foreign and won't answer any calls. google says its a land based number located in dublin, ga. it's a scam!

Confirmed: "pauline" is a scam. we need to track "her" down and crucify her. She's posting in Craigslist, seeking a room to rent, sends a deposit via moneygram, then asks for the money back after it appears to have cleared upon deposit, only to find out that the funds are not sufficient agains the money gram.

Yup I JUST went through this. Thankfully I was smart enough to figure out it was a scam before depositing her money. My parents and I have contacted the proper authorities to "take her down" I use that term lightly. I was just looking for a roommate and got caught up in all of this mess! BEWARE OF HER. and DO NOT DEPOSIT THE MONEY.

She tried the same tactics with me in Las Vegas, Nevada! Too bad she didnt make it here, they put people like her in holes in the desert! BEWARE!! PAULINE RICHARDS AKA PETAL WILLIAMS

Petal Williams was looking for a place in WI. She claimed to be looking for new beginning due to her mother just passing from cancer. Claimed to be in the nursing profession and interested in teaching yoga.

Her last message to me.... The cell you can text me on till i get my new phone is (605)9976474. I will be calling before any plan is made.

Looks like there is different contact information she provided.

She just tried it in virginia beach, too.  Using name petal Williams as well.

She tried it here in Monmouth County NJ with the name Petal Williams.  Steer clear of Petal Williams, it's a scam!!

I also heard from her interested in renting a room.  Same basic story and talked about having her stuff shipped and would send extra money to cover cost.  Things just did not seem right so I am glad I came across this site.  Who can we report this type of fraud too?  Here is the contact information I got from her.

Just got an email about a requested room to rent in WA. She sounds educated but her English is off just enough that it raised questions from both mom & I. She used the name Petal Williams and she claimed to be from Sioux Falls SD and gave the same story about her mom having passed away and trying to move for a better new life doing yoga and nursing. She didn't give a phone number or any viable info so she's learning from people not falling for her scam.

I was emailed the exact same story word for word.  Maybe she has a form letter which she alters slightly depending on the person and location involved.  Just today I was given the same cell number.  I'm in Albuquerque where she wanted to start a new life, etc.  I decided to Google the name and address she gave and it brought me here.  Thank you, just in time.

Yep I just got the same request regarding roommate ad that she posted in AZ. Petal Williams  says she's a Nurse but wont go into details, mom just died. Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

You do not have to send me the money.  I want you to fill up application forms and bring with you or you can scan and email me.  When you are here you do not have to rent hotel.  I will let you stay.  What is your bank?  I have Wells Fargo and Chase Bank.  You can go to my bank (prefer Wells Fargo Bank) and call me from the bank.  I will tell the bank teller or manager to deposit for credit/Background check $40, and you will get a receipt.  Once the credit/background is approved, then I will create a new account for you so that you can do a direct deposit into the account for deposit and monthly payment.  You do not have to send any checks.  Electronic banking account is easy to avoid any trouble.  When do you plan to come?  Certified check cost money and mailing too much trouble.  Since I work long hours, my room mate will move in next week and both of us will be working I do not want any checks or money order mail to me.

Thank God I believe in doing some due diligence or else she would have scammed me to. I am in Atlanta and got the same exact message and phone number as above. Refuses to send personal info to run background check but ready to send certified check payment?  Sure lol

I have been dealing with her for the last few days, have been suspicious from the start. Her email and text messages have seemed off and I started doing some research on her. She gave me the number of her "previous landlord" John (530) 213-3481 to contact for reference. The emails I received and the story she gave are the same as above.
