I have received several calls from this number over the last several months from a man known to me as "Brian Jones".  I did not answer the first several calls, believing they were from someone on Robins AFB, GA who had just called the wrong number, until I answered and it was actually Brian Jones calling.  This number is a base telephone communications trunk line, and generally registers when a person receives a call from someone working on Robins AFB, GA.  My caller-id registered "RAFB DMAR"  I believe this man to be a scammer, with possible ties to terrorism, although he maintains his innocence.  He is located in Accra, Ghana.  The details of the calls that I know were him are:  8/2/2007, 4:41 am; 8/25/2007, 10:43 pm; 8/29/2007, 10:30 pm.  The Ghana cell phone, service provided by MTN (formerly Areeba prior 2 Aug 07), that he calls me from is 011-23-324-952-7500.  I do not know the actual billing name, although I doubt it is Brian Jones.  Another cell is 011-44-703-183-9268.  A fraud agency in London, UK told me that the fraudsters/terrorists use these UK forwarding services (011-44-7**) to fool their victims into believing they are in a country other than the one they actually are in.  His use of the 478-327-9999 telephone number has been reported to the FBI in the fraud report I filed with them on their IC3.gov website.  He has used other US numbers also to make his connection with me.  These numbers are typically numbers that are "no longer in service".  Also, various other cell numbers in Accra, Ghana will display from one minute to the next when he calls repeatedly.

478-327-9999 it's Robins Air Force Base. My brother works there and he called me from that number. My brother's name is not Brian Jones. Maybe someone was trying to recruit you.

Yes, I know it's Robins AFB.  I get calls from various people, too from Robins AFB, since I retired from there.  That is how I knew that Brian Jones, from Accra, Ghana, was using that communications trunk line to somehow "connect" his international number with my phone.  It's scarry what these scammers can do with our US phones.  The person mentioned above has been validated as a scammer, and I'd really like to know how they can "link" their calls with a number in the US that will display on our caller-ids, instead of the number they actually called from.

This number appears when my sister tries to call me from where she is stationed overseas.  She is normanly at Robins Airforce Base so she gets connected to me thru there.

Caller called, rang twice, hung up. Repeated again. ??

I saw two missed calls from this number 478-327-9999 at 2:40AM. It's good to know that I'm not the only one receiving these phone calls with unknown numbers, but it's disconcerting that it's possible for terrorists abroad to be able to tap into a local line as mentioned above. With the call coming in early in the morning I obviously did not answer.

i got one too, they just hung up. i used to work at robins afb. i wonder how he got this number and why hes calling...

I got 2 calls from this number within 10 minutes. I answered and nobody said anything.

i got a hang up call just a second ago on my cell.. i have never heard of RAFB and i found it by googling the number.. this is irratating and it best stop!!

So has anybody alerted the Military techs at the base that their lines have been infiltrated?

This is real number. The number originates from the base, because it is going through a PBX system. No worries.

Has nothing to do with anyone named Brian Jones. This is a phone number that shows up when you receive a call from a military family member/friend who is on TDY overseas. It does take a couple of seconds from the time you answer for them to respond because of the delay.

I got a call on 10-10-12. at 5:30. sounded kie oreinal women. and laughing in background. I recognized the number as being from Robins AFB. cause i worked there.

478-327-9999 called my cell today. I do not answer unknown ph nrs. I do get 5 to 6 scam calls some days and always 2 or 3 on my landline.  I have health issues & they wake me during the times I can sleep!
  I know the Fed govt could put a stop to this and give us back our sanity, security & safety, along with normal freedoms. Our quality of life has been permanently damaged by these relentless ph calls. Forget trying to block them. Not in my area yet they use my Area Code. I even bought phones u can block nrs from but they still ring once and wake or disturb u plus they then use another nr!! HELP!!!!!!

It is Robins AFB automated system reminding you of any unused Tricare referrals you may have.

Anyone can go through the PBX with connections I believe.
