Very rude and phallic

Same SOBs from India claiming what we have a computer problem... Fortunately we have a call blocker ($60.00 and worth every penny) We can block area codes so it helps because their spoofed number changes frequently.

Got a call from an India-sounding native speaker. He claimed something was wrong with our computer and that it could shutdown at any minute. I told him, "Please remove our number from your list." Them he got offended and asked rudely, "Whyyy?? This is about your windows computer! It could shutdown any minute!" I said, "Yeah, no thanks" and he hung up. Very rude indeed. Disregard their calls. This is a scam. I tried calling the number back immediately to speak to a supervisor but it says the number has been disconnected. Very shady. Just came up on the ID as Arizona call.

They called and tried to tell me there's a problem with my windows computer. We have 5 MacBooks, not using Windows in this household!  I told them to stop calling because we're on the Do Not Registry!  He didn't care, they still call.

The DNC list is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

The DNC list is intended to help stop calls originating from legitimate telemarketers.
* Your calls were not from legitimate telemarketers.
* Therefore, the DNC list will not stop those calls.

The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate, registered telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and scam telemarketing callers!

Remember, the FCC's Do Not Call site is a good one to report unwanted calls from LEGITIMATE telemarketers.   To report spammers and scammers, visit the FTC site, at https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/

If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.

These people scammed my elderly mother out of money. Luckily she wised up and called the cyber crimes division of our local police dept and got her money back. They have the nerve to continue to call her.

Some phone companies, land and cell, offer robo-blocking for free.  AT&T U-verse offers this for land lines.  It blocks about 90% of these types of calls- at least in my home.  It will ring once on my phone and then U-verse grabs the call and the caller will hear a message that tells them this phone does not accept robotic calling, please call back if this is not a robotic caller.  The caller ID will still show up so I can see the numbers like this Arizona call.  I'm still waiting for AT&T to offer it for cell phones.

Thank god I know about this scam.  Phoenix area code & the he could barely speak English.  I answered by mistake.  It is the "your Windows isn't working properly" blah blah blah,  Give us all your info so we can hack into your computer and steal passwords.  Jerks!  Never ends.  I told him I knew it was a scam and not to call again.  Sure they will listen.  UGH.

Continual calling to our business number

Ya, I got this call a few minutes ago......told them to call some 70 yr old who didn't know jack about their computer and to add me to the DNC if they're even legal.  I was rude and hung up, so I have no idea if my scammer was ruder than me.  

Called a few minutes ago to my 81 year old mothers home. I pulled up the number, blocked the call, this should work.

They called me and told me that my computer was being attacked by hackers and for a fee they could help me repair the invalid license to my Windows system.  I asked the guy to hold and went to another telephone line and called the originating number and it was not valid and went to a "not in service" recording.  The caller ID said Phoenix, AZ only and the number was 480-272-7237.  He said my computer was sending distress signals for rescue over the internet.  The computer was not even turned on.  They are recalling now and I'm letting it go to voice mail.  He had a Hindu accent from India,  He said he was calling from California, and Caller ID said Phoenix, AZ.  The background noise sounded like a call center in India.

I believe I got a bogus call.

Just called a while ago, did not answer.  No message left.

Keep getting calls saying they are calling from Windows re: computer.
I also tell them to remove our number and he said today " I am shutting your computer down now"!

Call received from male with heavy accent telling me I have a problem with windows and he can fix it.  I told him I don't have a computer and he proceeded to scream that I was a liar he screamed at me over and over until I hung up.

I have received 2 phone calls from this number this week.  Both times it was a male voice with an India accent I could barely understand.  As above claimed he was calling from California, and that my windows computer was doing something [unintelligible] wrong, invalid license or some such nonsense.  The 1st time I told him I was running Linux not Windows, he hung up.  This 2nd time I asked him a couple times for the instructions what I was supposed to do, and after he muttered something about how he was a computer professional, I yelled at him that he wasn't listening to me and then he hung up.

This is an old, old scam.  Never give out any information.

Been getting more calls from these folks. I've started playing along a little bit. Then after I am.told terrible the situation is I really enjoy telling the frauds that their call is really gives them away since there are now Windows computers in the house. They are all Macs. They hang up usually cursing as they do so.
