- Fadi| 3 repliesthis was a follow up call from Wildwest Domains (GoDaddy company) about renewing domains.
- Caller: Wildwest Domains
- RobbyMissed the call, but it came about 5 minutes after an email hit my inbox from Godaddy. Good follow up, in my opinion

- rougespearGodaddy??? asked about a domain that I don't own.

- JanI checked my account again. This wasn't an aggressive marketing call. I did need to renew a hosting account. So, GoDaddy was acting responsibly.

- A real GoDaddy customer| 1 replyThis number is from VERY SNEAKY SCAMMERS and is associated with competing domain registrars. All the entries here that say it is legitimate are most likely written by the same scammers. Don't believe them!
Here are the exact words of the voicemail I got from this number: "Hello, this is Larry. I'm calling from GoDaddy because we have a problem with the billing for your account. If you would like for your services with us to remain active, please call. The number is 480-366-3333. Thanks."
Since I am a customer of GoDaddy, I called the real billing account number (480-505-8855, which is listed plainly on GoDaddy.com) several times. Each time, the representative said there was NO PROBLEM with my billing or any of my services, and they didn't recognize the 480-366-3333 number. Nothing was up for renewal. We actually just ordered another service the day before, and I could see that payment was properly processed and cleared from our bank the next day.- Caller: "GoDaddy" (but it's not)

- adAndrew called from GoDaddy wanting to talk to domain owner. Since the domain owner was not around, he would not say what this call was for. I called the number, 480 366 3333 and i got a recording saying they were 'Billing and Management Services' sounds real fishy to me. i waited a while on hold and then some guy named Nick answered. I asked to speak to boss and was put on hold again so i hung up.
strange....- Caller: not sure, they claim they were GoDaddy
- MichaelSo funny... this really isn't a scammer. Wild West Domains, who is the parent of GoDaddy.com, offers reseller accounts to anyone for a fee. I have one, for example. If you go to www.SuncoastInteractive.net you will see MY reseller site, that looks very similar to GoDaddy's site and offers the same products and services (much of the same stock images are used, etc.) This is because the site is created by Wild West Domains and I simply have my own site to see THEIR services, earning a small commission in the process.
The message I got from this number (I buy services from my own reseller site) said that they were calling from "Suncoast Interactive" and that my hosting account had failed it's most recent billing attempt. This is true, this happened. The fact that they used the correct reseller name is further proof that it's legit.
Many of the posters in this forum cite the fact that people have gotten different business names from the person leaving the message as proof that it's a scam, but the fact is, this happens because there are thousands of reseller sites out there that Wild West handles the accounts for.
Anyway, I know people are going to say that I work for them or something, I don't... and I don't really care if you believe me or not... but I'm going on record saying that these people are NOT scammers and if you have a website or domain with ANY company it very well could be handled by Wild West Domains...
That's it... Hope that helps.- Caller: Suncoast Interactive (Wild West Domains)

- This is shady!| 1 replyI've taken two calls now from this number, they claim to be from GoDaddy and ask for your log-in PIN and/or credit card information. The last time they called, the guy forgot what his fake name was supposed to be and took him a few seconds to remember - hilarious. They refuse to specify which of your domains are set to expire, and I know that none of ours will expire for another 8 months.
Based on recent issues like Belkin paying for fake positive reviews on various websites, I wouldn't be at all surprised if any of the posts supporting this "organization" are planted by them.
If you actually have GoDaddy accounts, just manage them on your web interface yourself or call the real GoDaddy. Why take the risk of dealing with these clowns?- Caller: They claim to be GoDaddy
- ChrisGot a call from someone saying they were from GoDaddy about a domain that was up for renewal but they had a problem with my credit card. I dismissed it because I was in a meeting but my credit card had recently been replaced due to fraud so I told the guy I would just take care of it on the website. I go and log in to GoDaddy.com to find that the domain they mentioned still has over a year to go before it needs renewal.
The *creepy* part is they know my name, cell phone number, and at least one domain that I have registered, even though I have the "Domains by Proxy" protection.
If this is *really* Godaddy or a parent company, invest some more money into customer service reps that don't sound and act shady!!!- Caller: Claimed to be GoDaddy
- mbailey replies to This is shady! This is actually godaddy
- John T AbrahamPlease help me to may the renewal payment of the domain registration of the domain incomeexplosion.biz
- Lee| 2 repliesI got a call from this number on August 13, 2009. The guy left a message and said he was Nick with ProudDomains.com and wanted to talk to me about some of my domains that were expiring. (None of my domains are expiring any time soon.)
I called back and the greeting message said "Thank you for calling the Billing Management Center, your hold time will be 6 minutes." I'm far too impatient to wait 6 minutes just to bust a scammer, so I hung up.
Seems fishy to me. I would just log on to my account and handle issues over the web and not risk giving personal info to these people. - GoDaddy Affiliate replies to Lee| 1 replyAre you that incompetent to realize its who they say they are? Apparantly so if your resorting to accusations without proof.
- Melly| 1 replyI spent the past two hours calling 1-480-366-3333, VISA and GoDaddy before I came to the conclusion that they were legit.
VISA essentially said that scammers are revealed when they don't give you the service you paid for. Well, after giving my credit card number to 366-3333 (yes, I'll admit I was that stupid), both GoDaddy and who.is confirmed that my domain had been renewed today and for the amount I was told it would.
The customer service representatives do represent a ton of different websites, which is why they are vague in their description. It's also what makes them seem super sketchy.
For those who are skeptical, just call the number listed on the GoDaddy website and deal with account issues from there. It's common sense and sure would have saved me a heck of a lot of time, fear and paranoia.- Caller: GoDaddy (kind of)
- Call type: Unwanted
- Melly replies to MellyTo add to what I just said, the customer service number on the GoDaddy site is the same number listed on Wild West Domains.
- resilientNumber belongs to Go Daddy Web Hosting division personally calling to verify that you want your domain hosting to end or expire. If your credit card is not honored or you've reached the expiration date they are personally checking before expiring. Very professional contact.

http://www.24-7pressrelease.com/pdf/2007/12/05/press_release_36978.pdf - NickiThis was a legitimate call from godaddy. My credit card had not gone through and my payment was past due..
- Caller: godaddy
- Call type: Debt collector
- DanI found this post while the guy was on the phone ... it WAS actually Larry as mentioned below. But I followed up with GoDaddy ... at the number also posted below. It turns out Larry is totally legit. He's a Gdaddy reseller who makes a living reselling Godaddy services. He provided value to me by taking time to tell me my auto-renew didn't work...thus preventing an accidental loss of my domain name.
Thanks Larry!- Caller: H8D4
- AlHave had numerous calls from this number - always find the same message about billing problems with my account with godaddy.com - interesting because I don't have an account with godaddy! Have called back and they will not give me any more information except to say that if this was in error, the calls will stop shortly - I have had the calls on and off for months now - no signs of stopping. They are seriously screwed up!!
- Caller: godaddy.com account services
