hello hello then hangs up

Left no message. I'll block it.

Iiritating. Many calls then ahang up. Someone needs to find this phone and rip itout!

They say hello, then wait for your response, then they just hang up.  This number calls several times every few weeks or so (but my first time sharing this fact).  They never leave a message, but if you answer the phone they say hello and hang up.  Comes up as "Unknown Name" on caller ID.

Caller ID shows (480) 454-1611 Phoenix AZ, no company or person's name. Never leaves a message. I called the number back about 10 minutes later and a guy answered but hung up when I asked him what he was calling me about. Voices and some chatter in background makes me think it might be a political or some other group asking for donations. (best guess)
However the guy never ID himself and hung up after I asked why he called me. I've been getting calls from this number and a few others from the same area 2 to 3 times a month for the last 6 months, they never leave a message and caller ID only lists them as Phoenix AZ.

I Just got the call today at 2:54 Pm from that number. It was a recording of a guy who is asking for pledge money for the police. When I bluffed and said I've already donated, the recording basically repeated himself and said ' No record shows in our system" .
The caller said that he is from the Fraternal order of Police. I asked about their website and I even mentioned that I never give any personal information over the phone.
I said that the caller ID does not list the company's name and I wanted the company's website and also for directions to the business. I got no response to my questions.
I hung up after asking random questions.  Next time in a few weeks/months when these calls begin again, I am going to say some random odd things for shock value or an odd recording of someone speaking. I will prank the pranksters.

I just got a call from this number for the first time about 3:05 this afternoon.  I didn't answer.  Just FYI, those of you who have gotten a call from this number and they've said they are calling on behalf of some Fraternal Order of Police, I would be wary. Having worked in a law enforcement environment for 23 years, I've never known our Fraternal Order of Police to hire telemarketers to solicit donations.  I don't think others do either.

My girlfriend decided to call back the number. She argued with the recording at the " call center" and the recording got her to speak to a woman who gave a phone number and a website to look up. The phone number is 18884388938. The woman called it the Order of Police for Arizona State Lodge.  The website of http://azfop.com/
Nowhere on the site does it mention any drive for finding funding to help the families in Douglas, Arizona.

The woman on the phone sounded like she wanted to cry after my girlfriend told her off. The woman kept saying that my girlfriend had called the call center so my girlfriend said " I work for Medicare and I know call centers and we don't have recordings so why is there a recording demanding for money ? " . The woman said it's not demanding. She said " Anytime that you are calling someone out of the blue for a handout rather than raising more awareness legally as well as speaking to government officials, why are you calling on people who are not in Douglas Arizona?  The woman kept referring to the 1888 phone number.  Even if my girlfriend called that number, Why would that help because it's not a legit company and they're not with the BBB.  If they have not listened to " Do Not call" list then why would they listen now?

I agree with you. My girlfriend has a cousin who's a cop. My girlfriend blew up at the recording as well as with a telemarketer who gave a 1888 number for us to call. I am on the " Do Not Call" List. I do not understand why they're calling. My girlfriend said that you can tell it was a scam because of the recording and when she and I bluffed and said that we helped out, the recording went on to repeat. So this last time, my girlfriend was so heated so she wanted to tell the recording and a real-life worker who kept giving off the 1888 and a website. Nowhere on the website does it mention raising money for cops especially in Douglas, Arizona.

I called back the number after I kept getting hang up calls. They are a call center for the Fraternal Order of Police. I have nothing against the police, but I do have something against phone solicitations. I am afraid I used some pretty loud profanity. Sorry to the guy that was just doing his job, but your job sucks.

Don't be sorry. I've asked the police department about this, and they say it's a scam. The fundraiser has nothing to do with the FoP and gives them none of the money they collect.

I get lots of calls from the 602 and 480 area.  25 from one number alone.  Anyway, my phone doesn't ring anymore because I have blocked all 602 and 480 calls.  Takes care of the majority of the scam calls.  I keep track of them tho, since it records on my phone.  When I see someone there calls and the phone lights up, I just chuckle to myself.  So far, I have blocked 111 numbers and 64 area codes.  Aaah, life is good again.
