Got a call from this number but it disconnected before I could pick up. When I called back I got an automated recording saying it was some kind of rewards program. Said I could get a $100 rebate to a store of my choosing (or something to that effect), and then I was transferred to an actual person. The legitimacy of this "rewards" thing remains to be seen but my skepticism of calls like this led me to hang up. Call me cynical but I find it hard to believe that some "company" is going to randomly call me and offer me some kind of monetary reward just out of the kindness of their heart.... However, when I called it did give me the option to press "2" to be put on their Do Not Call list. How legitimate that is also remains to be seen. Hope this helps.

Another one of those numbers that rings once or twice, then disconnects. Listed as a Phoenix, AZ, number. I don't answer anything if there's no caller ID on it or I don't know the number because it's ALWAYS a scam. And LT, don't EVER EVER call the number back. You have now just verified that the number the scammers dialed is authentic. Congratulations. You will now likely see an increase in the number of calls like this that you will receive. And cynical? Of course you should be very, very cynical. This stuff is garbage designed to part you from your money. When you see these calls come in, DON'T ANSWER THEM. Don't engage them, don't ask to be put in a DNC list. Don't do anything. The first thing you SHOULD do, however, is to search here on 800notes or similar sites to see what's being written about the phone number and then, especially if you have an iPhone, create a contact with that number (I now have dozens of them, with multiple numbers in each contact) of the phone number, and then scroll to the bottom and BLOCK THIS CALLER. Trust me, it will make your life easier because they rarely if ever leave a message and blocked calls don't ring and go straight to VM.

Wendy, if you have an iphone you don't need to create a contact.  Just go to your recents, hit the i button in the circle, scroll down and block it.  Which is what I just did to this number.

    Renee,
Thank you. Have been wanting to know how to block marketing calls. Except on my iPhone there is no circled "I" on my 'Recents' phone page.  (There is though on the stock market page.).
Any other suggestions about how to block?
    Thank you.

Scroll to your recent calls list.   Directly to the right of the number is a circle with an i in it.   I believe it stands for information.   Touch the circled i.   Scroll down the page and on the bottom is an option to block this caller.  Select block this caller and that number will no longer be allowed to call your cell phone number.   Wish I had an option this easy on my home phone too.

Ii just got that number. I rarely answer numbers I don't know. Then check it out. Unfortunately yesterday I did. Stating I owe $500 dollars said they got it from some company ? This happened before at the same time of the years in the past. It was warned in the news about its a scam.

phone rang and ' v20113094100648 ' appeared, which looked overseas to me, so I thought a friend was signaling me to call to save them money. when I looked in my phone log, the 480-508-7195 number appeared instead. i'm inclined to believe someone over seas is using Vonage number to call and disguising number as USA number.

Had 5 calls from 5 different numbers in 5 different states over the past few days, all with the same recorded message "Hello, this is Heather (it's always Heather... she must really get around!) from accounts services. There is no problem with your account, but it is essential that we contact you immediately regarding lowering your interest rates." I always hang up by this point and block but she keeps calling from different states. Arizona, California, Georgia, Virginia & Kansas so far.

It is an automated scam calling machine. It tries to get personal information from you. Do not call it back.

On the iPhone, you don't need to create a contact for each of these numbers to block them.  When you look at the number on your "Recents" screen, next to the number is a lower-case "i" in a circle.  Click that and then scroll down to "Block This Caller" and click on it.  Voila!  It's done without the extra step of creating a contact.  I hope this saves you time in the future.  :)
