who is this   calling for what purpose   never answers   hangs up

Merchant Freedom Network harasses me daily 2-4x a day!  I asked them to stop and they will not!
480-719-6632 stop calling!!!!

The first call came on July 18. Again on July 19, and again today, July 21, twice. I have told them NO repeatedly, but to no avail. I know it is a scam--they know it is a scam, so why does the phone company allow it. I have notified the FTC, the FBI, and the GBI, but they evidently abide by no rules, even though I am on the do not call list. I know they get paid to sucker people into this scam and I feel sorry for anyone who has to make a living in this way, but once you say no, they ought to leave you alone. I wonder what the do not call list is all about since so many of these calls are going through to people.

This number calls several times a day.  When you answer, no one is there and they do not leave a message.

Yep, same story here.  I've been blasted with calls from the 480 area code and this one seems to like to call the most.  I have no clue why I'm getting these codes, as I'm over a thousand miles away from AZ.

I am getting phone calls from this number daily on my cell phone. No message if ever left. I want it to stop. How do I get this to happen.

I have asked these people every time they call to remove me from their list.  They say Ive applied for information about a home business, but don't tell me where.  I asked where they got my phone number and was rudely told they pay for these numbers.  I have been sworn at with the B word and F word, and they don't stop calling!!!!! For some reason they always seem to call on Canadian Civic Holidays...can someone please help!

This number is from a collection agency, which purports to own what ever unpaid student loan a person might have.  Unfortunately, the US Dept of Education doesn't sell loans which they haven't collected.  They contract the collections out to the: "National Recovery Office", which is a private collection firm, which makes the attempt to collect unpaid student loans.  This organization also owns several phone numbers in the area around Phoenix, Ariz; including numbers in the 520 area code, which commonly show up on caller ID as (522)XXX-XXXX, {where the Xs represent the actual number they are calling from.
I wont answer calls from Arizona any more, as those calls are from collection agencies, which claim to "own" my unpaid student loans.  As far as I am concerned, any call I get from Arizona, is a bogus call, and I might as well turn it over to my collection company, to collect from them for giving me such a hassel.

I'm in Toronto Canada and lately I've been getting calls from this number several times a day.  No one on the line.  I don't owe any student loans or applied for any home business in the US.  So what the heck are they calling me for.

These ice-holes call 3 or 4 times a day, I just don;t answer!

Same story here - just dont answer it. I have tried everything to get rid of them, frustrating as it is, they will not go away.

That sounds like part of their scam Richard, because when they called me they were calling to consolidate my debt, and when I told them I wasn't interested, and to take me off their call list they hung up.  I know that what you received was a scam, because the same number called me, was for a different reason, and even if it were for the same reason, I don't have ANY unpaid student loans ANYWHERE.

Honestly, I think this group is a group of people using a bunch of random numbers from around the country, some from AZ, TX, etc... to try out DIFFERENT scams, to get people to pay up.  I suspect they use the DNC registry as their own personal base of phone numbers to call and harass.  I have been blocking these numbers as quickly as they call, but then another one pops up.

This is extremely agitating as this is my cell phone, which I never give the number out to anyone I do not know.  When I fill out forms at the grocery stores or online, I use my cell phone or skype number, because those I rarely answer and have my home phone on silent.

What I suggest, is stricter punishments for these kinds of companies. When a number like this starts harassing people like this, the number should be immediately suspended the and rights of the company to purchase/rent new numbers should be suspended, until an investigation into their company is done.  This is ridiculous.

I received a call from 1-480-719-6632 asking about my interest in starting a home based business.  I think they got my number from a questionnaire I filled out to sign up for and online survey site (big mistake,but that's another story) where I expressed interest in the home based business.  When he said why he was calling I told him I was not interested at this time due to the face I just buried my father yesterday and need to take care of my elderly mother who lives in another state.  He asked when I might be interested and I said maybe next year.  His response was "Amazon.com does not wait for people to start a home bases business" and hung up the phone. I called the number back and the message said Merchant Freedom Network. Hopefully they won't call back but I did let Amazon.com know that they are using their name.

They called me offering a home based business and wanted me to invest money into the company. I hung up and then they called back and cussed me for hanging up on them!!! Calls have been NON STOP all day 7 so far and its still early so I am sure there will be more. I am on the do not call list but they call anyway.

if the name or number appear the DNC does not work DNC is when it reads no name and no number.  Put a block on your number and then they can't call

Do also feel sorry for people who work as prostitutes?  What about thugs who rob you in the street?  Or other "poor victims" who commit crimes.  You must be a  left-wing Obama-supporting dumb ass in order to want to forgive people for trying to scam you (not to mention breaking the law by calling you in the first place) simply because they need a job.  If "I need the money" is an excuse, then you should have no problem with TSA workers who feel up little girls or priests who feel up little boys, after all, they needed the job.  And what about politicians who lie constantly?  Do you think it is perfectly OK for them too?  After all, those guys need the pay check.  Dumb ass.
