this number continually calls and hangs up when i amswer.I have tried to call back but no one answers. I called the annoyance call bureau and was told telemarketers are circumventing the do not call list under the guise of a survey callewhich is exempt from the do not call registry. Apparently there is nothing we can do to stop this from occurring.
I get a call from this number atleast once a day, they never say anything. I have quit answering calls from this number over the last few weeks but they continue to call everyday.
I have received numerous calls from this number. Caller ID says MDSS. No one is ever there when the phone is answered. I have even tried calling the number at different times of the day and no one answeres.
We receive calls from these people several times a day. I had been put on the do not call list awhile ago, but it must be time to do that again. This is annoying and an invasion of my privacy.
MDSS is a magazine billing and renewal outfit in Harlan,Iowa. They can get around the National Do Not Call regs if they handle any magazine you subscribe to or have ever subscribed to. If you get a sales card from Playboy in the mail, they are the ones that sent it and there is a PO Box on the card. Good luck getting rid of those clowns!
harlan, IA is a 712 area code. How do they work with a different area code. I live near there, I could go and complain. I get these calls several times a day also. I refuse to answer them.
I received this phone call from phone no. 480-967-0402, at 7:58 p.m. today, Thursday, August 30, 2007.
Background: I order magazines from Publisher's Clearing House all the time (and from no other companies) to enter PCH's sweepstakes and win some money! So when my subscription runs out, I don't get a call or letter from PCH, I get phone calls from 480-967-0402 wanting me to renew my subscriptions. I tell them no!, that I want to begin all over with PCH so I will be entered into their sweepstakes again. So I do not think that this no. is a scam to get your identity. PCH just hires do-dos like the one I just go tonight who sounded like he had something in his mouth and I could hardly understand him. So we do not have to fear this no.!
Received about 6 calls last night. ALL hung up on answering machine. Several previous calls were answered in person and they were also hang ups by a computer. I'm on the "do not call registry" and have lodged a formal complaint. I've contacted the FTC Consumer Protection and all efforts to contact MDSS directly were in vain. Thank God for caller ID, so I can go after them. I'm retired, and need a hobby!
