Get calls often from this #.  However the messages they leave always state to call back 866 909 0527.  Both #s are from Portfolio Recovery, a collection agency.  The buy old debt that is past the statute to sue, but a debt is never past a statue to attempt to collect on.  So, they try.  Often (as in my case), the debt was actually paid to a previous agency that was working the account.  I've reported them as violating the FDCA becuase I've recieved calls after 9 PM and on Sunday before 8 AM.  Both of those calls remain recorded on both my voice mail and on the TV (which logs all my calls in).  My best advise is if you owe someone, pay the someone you owe and do not go thru this agency to pay off an old debt.

I have received many, many calls from different numbers, which all seem to be from the same place, Portfolio Recovery. Each time a number comes up that I don't recognize, I run the number through this website and find out that it's yet again, Portfolio and save the number to my phone so I recognize not to answer it the next time.  So far I have saved 6 different phone numbers, each from a different area code.

I have become an expert in Portfolio Reovery/Anchor Receivable pest calls, since these vermin have been invading the privacy of my home for more than two years. This is a relatively new number for them, 484-489-2840.  It is located in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania. They actually identified themselves as Portfolio Recovery on the caller ID when they pestered us twice today  -- Sunday.

I thought Sundays were off limits, and that twice a day was off limits  -- they called twice from another number in one day a few weeks ago. Isn't that harassment? Isn't that why these foul bottom-feeding scum use so many different numbers  -- so they can pester people from several different numbers every day, while evading harassment charges?  I thought they had to leave a message ?

I wonder if we could use mass consciousness to blow them off the map  -- everybody concentrate at 10pm on December 1.  Hah!  Maybe that's why they use so many different locations...Kansas, Tennessee, Alabana, Virginia  -- or are all the non-Virginia numbers spoofed?  Maybe I'll do a dissertation on Portfolio Recovery.

portfolio likes to use many #s. This is so they don't get recognized. They buy old debt which is no longer collectible in court and try to harass anyone that may now have that #. They don't need to spoof the # because it is legal for them to purchase phone #s in all those areas

Got a call today - pretty sure it's for my brother in law, he never lived at my house and my # is unlisted.  I tried to call back but they are having "technical difficulties".  Irritating.  They woke me up.

These creeps called me on Sunday, 7:50 PM.  This one is a PA #,  But they also come from AL, GA,  & OH among others.  Solution: get caller id & never answer a # you don't recognize.

These people are crooked; trying to collect a debt my foot; that was a legal issue for someone having stolen my info. and getting a credit card under my name; when I involved my lawyer they supposedly wrote it off (or the company supposedly wrote it off for taxes); I sure would like to know what is the next step in getting these slimebags off my back once again; oh yea, they send you all kinds of crap with jacked up amounts......

    Same Name
I get calls from this company, always using a different phone number for someone with my same name.  (This person even has the same doctor as me and they often pull this persons medical file when I have an appointment.)

Gotta love caller ID.  I only give out my number to family, friends and business associates.  If I don't recognize the number on my cell phone or my home phone I just don't pick up. If it's important they will leave a message and I will call them back.

I use my cell phone for emergencies only, with a few exceptions and rarely, if ever, receive calls.  I had no idea who these calls were from until I googled it.  I never heard of Portfolio Recovery, which I understand is a collection agency.  I have no debts that were sent to collection.  There are several other numbers which I do not recognize and assume they are probably from the same company.  I'd appreciate whatever you can do to stop these calls.  Thanks.

Has anyone tried changing their phone number with mobile company? Curious to know if this might work- would be worth the hassle to call all friends and family to stop the almost daily calls (sometimes 2x a day) 7 days a week. They call at 7 am Saturday mornings. Saturday nights at 9:00 pm. Trying to collect $15,000 from small debt paid off by consolidation 6-7 years ago.

Its ridiculous that these calls come at the time of night and day that they appear. they have been instructed to not call but do not heed. the bills are being paid to the company and not to an agency.

My advice..don't answer the phone from an unknown number..since Portfolio never leaves a message I just ignore it since 99% of the time it is they who are calling.  My debts were written off years ago and I was told that if I do acknowledge the call then the staute of limitations will start all over again.
