501-340-0216

I received a text message from the following number: 501-340-0216 which is a "land line" located in Little Rock, Arkansas. I thought you couldn't text from Land Lines....but I just found out that some newer land line phones can send texts. The problem is...I don't think the texts are coming from the phones they are "showing up" as. This is the text I received:


I'm Emily. Your phone last month has *w 0 n*! Go to gowinxmas.info/?GKFEGGGFFH, you code 2764.


Real original, huh? especially the GKFEGGGFFH. Oh and the grammar "you code 2764".
Anyway, I wanted to put this out there because it's a prank or a scam. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but the best thing to do is put it out there for other people, so if they receive a text of the same variety, they'll know they're being pranked. I googled gowinxmas.info? and found where the same type texts were being sent from different numbers in "Utah" saying Your Phone las month has *w 0 n*, and different codes. I hope the land line isn't receiving charges for these texts. Unless they are involved. But whoever is sending these messages needs to stop!

Hi, "Concerned".  I also received a text exactly worded the same way from 501-392-8715. Supposedly from "Alex". My main concern is the code they give you. Mine has significance to me. Does yours (2764) mean anything to you. If it does and you know what I mean, this is frightening. Of course I definitely didn't click on their link. How can these [***] continue to get away with this crap?!!

I received the same message as well. Name given was "Jordan" and code 3383

I received the same message from "Ashley" at 501-301-0492, directing me to the same web site with a different code. Heaven only knows what this is all about, but the grammar and odd addition of a generic name convinced me that it was a scam. Thank you for posting this complaint. I'm glad to know others haven't been duped.

No, my code had no meaning for me. I think they are randomized, but I'm sure it must have been concerning to think they had some kind of information about you. Cheer up!

mine was from 9782427462 " I'm Nicole. Your phone last week has !!_W O N_!! Open gowinxmas.info"  that's it, of course I didn't click or open it.  Deleted right away.

I received the same message from a different phone number.  316-350-8822  This is the 3rd time!!  Do you know if there is some way to stop it.
