Melissa Karber from a Law Office. needed to speak to me regarding Ms Rosa Garcia who has (2) felony cases in Santa Barbara County. I don't know any Rosa Garcia... I was listed as a close family member to contact in case of an emergency.

I received a call from the phone #502-437-3936 and caller identified herself as Melissa Carber. She told me she was looking for my nephew-in-law and that we were listed as his point of contact. Also claimed they had a few felony cases pending against him and that he needed to call them right away. Something about her set off warning bells and they only got louder when she revealed why they needed to reach him. Legal authorities normally just tell you they can't be specific, they just needed the person to call them back. A friend told me to Google the no. and I'm so glad she did because that's when we found out its a scam. I KNEW my nephew didn't have any kind of charges against him let alone felony ones. So, everyone be careful and pass the word around about yet another scam out there.

Sent 100's of dollars or was supposedly facing criminal charges, her so-called lawyer yelled and got aggravated when we asked about the charges. We STILL sent the $ now the # no longer receives calls.

"hello am Richards can you handle my roof replacement for me and do you accept credit card"
This is typical contractor scam msg. Dont get on the hook, i almost did before. Glad secratary researched online. Scam! Scam! Scam!
