Received a text to purchase a motorcycle, identified themselves as John Kings and then followed up with an email as follows:

I just got your message. I will be paying $13,000 for the bike.I am at sea at the moment as I am a marine engineer and due to the nature of my work, visiting of website and calls are restricted but I squeezed out the time to check out your advert and send you an email regarding it. I will be paying you through PayPal as I wont be opportune to pay for it my self so if you are interested in selling it to me please get back with the following - Your name and PayPal email address so I can make the payment. My private courier agent will come over and pick it up at your home or specified location after payment clears. Don't bother about shipping, no shipping.

    Cheers,
    John

A marine engineer from Kentucky, looking to purchase a used motorcycle from Northern Canada doesn't make sense.

these  are  currently  one  of  the biggest  scams  around !!!!

giveaways  are  the   usual  obvious......(  most  or  all of  these  are  usually  in the  scam )

    1)  wants  to  overpay ( they  send a  fake   bank  draft  or  money  order.....IF  cashed   it  will bounce.....the  scammers  hope   they  have a  chance   to  get the  merchandise  BEFORE  the  bank  catches the  fraud  money  order or  bank  draft ......seller is  on the  hook )
1b)  scammers  also  using   fake  PAYPAL  accounts  as well......(  if  you  forward  your  PAYPAL account  info....you  are  screwed as  they  will usually  take  over  your  paypal  account ) .......paypal   will  usually  do  nothing  for  you  as  well.......
    2)  will take  of  " shipping  themselves"
    3)  stuck  on a   ship /  boat  somewhere ( military  or  otherwise ) ....will send a  " friend"  to  pick  it  up  etc....

    4)  poor  spelling /  grammer and  english.......these  people  are  usually  in  nigeria /  jamaica  and  related......

    whoops.....

and  the  easiest  other  way  to  tell:

    # 5)    scammers   can't  think of  real  name.........hence   "  john  kings"   (   usually  always   use a  first and  last  name ).

    have  seen  these  :

    bill  billy
    joe bills
    john  frank
    henry  johns
    sam  frank

    and  the list  is  endless

I got a text message from a 502-532-1596. Wanting to buy a vehicle I put up for sale on Kijiji. He asked me to email him at johnkingse@att.net which I did. Having just found out scottamy51 was a scammer I decided to look up this Guys email but it didn't come up with anything however his phone number did prove he was a scammer. Just wanted to share my story and warn everyone to be careful these people are pathetic

This Guy is trying to pull the same scam on me right now.  I Just texted him and told him that I did a Google search of his phone number.  He wanted to know what I found.  I texted him back "not Good".  Haven not heard from him in the last ten minuets.  I gave him my name and email address in the beginning and then got a little concerned.

I got a tet from the phoe # 502-532-1596 saying he was ready to buy a car we have listed on Craigslist. He did give his email asking for a reply to Johnkingse@att.net (just like he has sent to other people). After reading this, and knowing we are about 800 miles from Kentucky, we have OBVIOUSLY decided this guy can try to scam someone else. VERY PATHETIC!! Hope no one falls for this crap!
