Someone with heavy foreign accent telling me that my computer has been sending something out. When I said I haven't used my computer in over a month, she acted surprised. Scam straight up.

Caller stated the name of the organization, which was not clearly interpreted, and proceeded to walk me through a process on a computer.  The lead-up was that the computer was, in my own paraphrasing, vulnerable.  After playing along for a minute or two with the very elementary steps, I finally interjected that I was a network engineer and IT professional by trade and that they could proceed to the higher-level overview of the process.  The caller immediately hung up.
Beware of callers imposing fear and convincing you to buy the solution, to go to a website, and/or to install a software.

Caller with a heavy foreign accent said they were with iTunes technical support.  They also said that my computer was sending out error messages.  I told him that I am not that stupid and he hung up on me.

Recieved the same call about my computer sending out a "distress call" to their server. Having a computer networking background, I asked him "What is the originating IP address sending the call?" "That information is confidential" was his reply. "What is the IP address of your server" I asked. No reply to that question. He asked how many computers and laptops do you have in your home?" "How many does your server show I have?" At this point, I told him l can do this all day; your time is not important to me. The calls stopped 6 months ago. I miss those calls. :-(

It was only hours later that I saw the caller ID for this call. Even had I been home at the time of the call, I would not have answered the phone anyway. I don't answer calls from names and numbers I do not recognize. These callers certainly are a bunch of wing-dings!

This person did all the same as others have said. He had a heavy accent (Indian maybe?), said my computer was throwing errors and reporting them, that he worked for GS Technical support and that they handle all issues related to the Windows operating system. The crux is that my laptop has been powered off due to a dead battery for about a week, so this is definitely a scam.

I just received this call, they said they are from GS Technical Support. They informed me that my computer is throwing out error messages and they need to walk me through the process to fix it. I told her that my computer is dead and needs to be charged. She told me she will just call me back in 30 min to fix my computer...Do they really think people are gonna fall for this BS?

Received call from "Anderson" in NY at this 503 number explaining that I have many problems with my computer. He was calling to help!! I listened to his blabber and then told him he could call back after my police IT specialist husband comes home from work. They could walk through the problems together. Could not understand the company he works for, asked if he lives in India.
