I just happened to be looking at the cellphone screen when this call came in. The message flashed "Call Diverted" and the phone started ringing. Didn't recognize the number and let to go to voicemail.

It was some Telemarketer offering an 'all expenses paid' ($2,500) trip to Cancun, Mexico.

Called and left no message. I suspect they are telemarketers using fake Craigslist ads to get your number.

Received this call from this number about 30 minutes ago. They are a marketing firm using the line that "you've won" a vacation to Cancun, Mexico. I decided to listen to the live operator. It is impossible to "google" their company name which i was told is "Cancun Caribbean Vacations". After being asked if i was 25 or older and if I had a credit card that could be used to check into a hotel...they require you to give them your credit card number and be charged 698 dollars to receive 2 vacations, in my case. They use "high pressure tactics" and require the credit card info by the end of the phone call in order to be "eligible" for the offer that I apparently won. Smells fishy and raises more red flags the more questions you ask. BEWARE!!

I just got a call that sounded identical to the one described, "Cancun Caribbean Vacations" offering me two vacations, saying I had to confirm by the end of the phone call, and wanting a credit card number to charge $698 (at which point I hung up on them). The number showing on caller ID was 315-257-9380.

You guys are all idiots LOL i used to work for this company, they are very legit. See they tell you first you won a 2,600 dollar discount not 2,500 towards your vacation in Cancun, ppl think it's an all expense paid trip. IT'S NOT, their really just selling vacation packages for 698 dollars but that's the hook to get you to listen, you think calling people saying hey buy a vacation package would work? hell no. If any of you idiots actually negotiated this you can put 175 down for the total price of 349 dollars to get 6/5 in cancun for 4 not all inclusive, 5/4 for 4 in orlando, THEN THEY ADD MORE IF YOU KEEP SAYING NO IM NOT HAPPY 4/3 all inclusive cruise for 2, and a 8/7 dream week vacation to over 240 locations throughout the world in a half a million dollar condo. The only thing actually costing this company money is the cruise and that's if you actually even negotiate.

You WILL be required to go to a timeshare presentation for the resort you stay at, you see all there really doing is giving you a room in Cancun to stay at for 6/5 nights, it doesn't cost the resort ANYTHING to let one vacant room be used, out of every 10 people 1 will buy timeshare. SO THEY CALL YOU BECAUSE THEY WANT YOU TO COME DOWN AND IT COSTS THE COMPANY VIRTUALLY NOTHING TO PROVIDE ONE ROOM WITH THE CHANCE YOU BUY TIMESHARE? Yea that's how money is made from the people who actually remember to use the vacation package. It's not all inclusive it's JUST A ROOM FOR FOUR.

The company makes it's money not by scamming but by impulse buyers who purchase the package and forget about it, over 70% of the packages are never used, how many Americans daily purchase this and completely forget is unreal, the 30% who visit well, about 3% buys an average of a 15k timeshare, so money is made there too
If you receive this call don't be stupid, this is actually the only legit company doing this, don't miss out on the oppertunity. But you idiots won't believe me thinking im trying to promote the company and people will always think it's a scam. I gave you all there secrets, i gave you the 2 extra vacations they add if you actually negotiate VERY WELL, use keywords like well no ive just always wanted to take a cruise, be smart about it.

He is right in all he said... I got this call and at first i was a little affraid.. (because there are a LOT of scams nowdays)... the offer seemed very nice, but still didn't wanted to risk $698... so I did made them to lower the package price, and authorized a downpayment...

I got my email confirmation, my welcome call, and the brochures they promised... and for only $349 I got a dream vacation, a cruise, and my vacation to Cancun...

So far I have recieved everything they have told me... and my credit card was billed only for the amount I authorized.

We are so pleased when we see such an obvious and failed attempt at shilling, because it means this site is working and making it tougher for you scammers to trick victims out of money on the phone.

While some may simply read your post as the blithering idiocy it is, the more complete picture you paint actually validates this site's effectiveness at thoroughly exposing you and your scam.

Thanks for the ringing endorsement. You can go back to the boiler room now and hope the next potential victim you call hasn't found this site yet, or otherwise heard about your tired old SCAM! Those victims are getting hard to find, huh? LOL!

If you are familiar with timeshare you would know how this works and that it is not a scam. I used to work for this company a couple years ago for a short time when I went backpacking through Mexico and ran out of money to travel with. Yes, they are very misleading, but they have to be just in order to grab your attention otherwise you would never answer the phone or care to listen to the whole spiel. The company doesn't make any money whether they sell it to you for 698 or 175, they make money when people invest in the timeshare properties or just forget that they bought the vacation. Just keep saying no until they drop it to 175 down and 349 total price, but be smart about it or they will catch on to what you are doing and transfer you to take their survey and you'll lose the promotion, but you will get another call in a few months... or they will just hang up on you it depends on the mood of whoever is on the phone.

The only real scam is when you actually travel here and they use high pressure tactics to try to get you to attend the timeshare presentation after your walkthrough amenity tour of the resort. However, you are not obligated to attend the timeshare presentation and if you let yourself get bullied into the presentation then you are just a [***]. It is clearly stated in the digital receipt that all that is required is the 90 minute tour of the resort.

It you make the mistake of answering at all, have a whistle handy to blast them. It's much more enjoyable than what this clown suggests, and a great deal cheaper too. With any luck it'll be "past employee" on the other end LOL!
