Sosha - 28 May 2008This company called and an automated system picked up when I answered the phone. It said press 1 if you are the person the need to talk to or press 2 if you are not that person.
I hung up, called the phone number back and a lady answered and said I was calling ACSI. Then I asked her what type of company they were and what did ACSI stand for, she then asks me for my phone number.
I gave the number anyway and told her to take my cellphone number off their calling list. Then she asks me if I knew the person they were trying to reach, I told them no and told her she was a very desperate person.
These telemarketers and bill collectors will do about anything to find a debtor.
One law firm called my 10 yr old cellphone 5x. When I called the company to let them know they were calling a minor, they asked me if my son knew the person. Hmm, I wonder why would my minor child affiliate with an adult that owes a debt. I had to threaten to call the FCC if they called my son's cellphone again.

Christy - 28 May 2008We've had several phone calls asking for a Larry (our last name) and if we knew how to get ahold of him. I have no idea who Larry is and I told this to the person who called. They've called a couple of times and each time I tell them the same thing.
What I did when we got our phone number was to tell the telephone company to list the phone in my children's names. They told me that was fine. What they didn't know was I put the phone number in the cats names. So when anyone calls asking for these names, I know it's a telemarketer. The funny thing is there's actually a person who has one of the cats names and that cat has gotten thank you notes for doing electrical work and volunteering at several places. He's also served in the military.

Rebecca - 23 Jun 2008This number has been calling for weeks, but there's no option in their automated system to tell them that they have the wrong number. I finally called back today and got a live person after 12 rings. She said that she removed my number from their list. So once I got a live person, they were at least responsive. We'll see if the calls stop!
