It's a collection agency.

an person called from this number.  I had to ask who it was and it took two questions to get his name.  Who is this? "Anthony" Anthony who? "Anthony Green"  This person was not volentering any information.  Any and all information came from question after question.  But he wasn't shy about asking me questions, one after another.

he acted like he was an old friend.  Left a message for me to call him first thing Monday

Same guy as listed above name Anthony. Called from 503-635-9885 but his direct line is 503-594-0426. He needs to smile a little, don't take your job too seriously.....lol

So do you know by law that collection companies are not allowed to disclose any information on a answering machine. They are allowed to say who there looking for and there name. No longer the name of ther company or anything like that. I mean would you want someone to be calling your relatives house if that was the only number that they had and left a  embarrassing message stating that you owe a bill and need to pay it. Or that they sent you to there legal department and that you were being garnished for not paying your bill. I mean come on. The other thing is if you would have paid your bill in the first place they probably wouldn't be calling right? If you were having problems with paying it then why didn't you just answer the questions and help your problem not make it worse? ,,Felicia P, Greenville SC

Felecia this is not the place to be on your pedastal telling people to pay their bills.  Obviously they are aware of this. Hopefully bad times never fall on you.

I successfully sued this credit collection agency, got a judgement for 2,500 in damages and they had to pay the original debt they were collecting off.   Let me tell you what they did,  watch for it.  I am on SSI and you can't garnish me,  my husband is not responsible for the medical bill.  They served me papers and I didn't show up, got a judgement acknowledging I owed.  Then filed garnishment papers on my husbands work inserting his SSI and Info on a judgement in MY NAME ONLY.  The judge did not sign off on garnishing his wages,  a sharp eye in his book keeping dept caught the error, and I sued.   If you or a spouse gets a garnishment from this company, make sure it's court legitimate. They wouldn't have done it if they haven't gotten away with it many times over.

have they not yet learned im not gonna answer, they're silly to call me from one number and ask me to call back another

Someone calling you from a collection agency most likely will show the main phone # on the caller I/D. They will most likely give you their direct phone number. That has been my experience at least.

Woman caller, rudely asking for someone with my name, not giving any other info.  Don't have any outstanding debts, so don't know why calling me.  Would not tell her she had the right person, so she hung up.

Well they called my cell phone, which isn't legal afaik because it costs me money.

I didn't answer as I never answer a # I don't know. But I might answer next time just to be entertained by the collections agency.

I'm unsure as to what debt they think I owe, as my credit report is clear. Well, whatever. I'll just ignore them.

Man called asking for me. He said he "needed" my adult sons address. Asked who he was and he said he was a friend. When I said we didn't have his address, he got an attitude. Asked for his phone number. Said I didn't have it, but could give him a message next time he called. Nope. I asked what this was regarding because I know all of his friends. He said "A business deal" and hung up! Jerk.

Anthony called from this number.  Wanted my sister.  I said she wasn't here, he said "Do you have her work #, I will just call her there."  I said, "Who is this?" he said, "Who is THIS?"  I hung up on him. He was a rude a H**e!

When they leave a message, they're supposed to identify the fact that the call is an attempt to collect a debt. That's a new law. Guess Robert Thomas forgot that fact. Whatever. Columbia Collections is also based in the Portland area, Milwaukee I believe.

Thats only if they disclose the information, and you are either the right party or the spouse. Know your facts
