However, he isnt mentioning anything about Electronic checks but he wants to do it through AlertPay and says his lawyer will only allow him to do it this way. jayna3p - 16 Aug 2008Not a call, but a string of emails from this guy, Murphy James or whoever he is. He wanted to buy a watch, and tried to send me a bank verified check for $1300 over my asking price. Gave me some c**k-and-bull story about a company issuing one check and his friend needing the rest for wedding plans. I asked myself, who would send a perfect stranger an extra $1300? A SCAMMER!! I told him that I would no longer sell the watch to him, and that i was going to return the check to him unopened. Two days later, he sends me the tracking number of the check, which he overnighted after he got my email!!!
I admit, I was naive to even enter into negotiations with this guy, but I'd like to think i'm not THAT stupid.
I finally got a hold of his number to "straighten things out," did a search, and found this forum. DON'T deal with this guy!!

I didn't feel good about this and told him that I wanted to talk to someone...and he gave me this phone number 503-665-3295 and told me it was a friend who was in the army and my not answer!! Nobody answered and so I thought I would look up the number on line and it turns out that it was a scam!!
Be cautious when selling from Craigslist!! There are crazy people out there!
