Someone is using this # on craigslist, they are trying to scam people using an Echeck(email check) telling people to go out to the store and get business checks and you can print them on the paper and put it in your bank account.
Beware of this #, people saying it is their #.

just tried scamming me

He started talking to me on craigslist a few days ago saying that he wanted to buy my Diamond Engagmeng ring.
He keeps beating around the bush about paying me and just like the emails above, he claims he wants it as soon as possible. However, he isnt mentioning anything about Electronic checks but he wants to do it through AlertPay and says his lawyer will only allow him to do it this way. Its all very strange the way he is talking to me and going about this. Here are the emails.

Not a call, but a string of emails from this guy, Murphy James or whoever he is.  He wanted to buy a watch, and tried to send me a bank verified check for $1300 over my asking price.  Gave me some [***]-and-bull story about a company issuing one check and his friend needing the rest for wedding plans.  I asked myself, who would send a perfect stranger an extra $1300?  A SCAMMER!!  I told him that I would no longer sell the watch to him, and that i was going to return the check to him unopened.  Two days later, he sends me the tracking number of the check, which he overnighted after he got my email!!!  

I admit, I was naive to even enter into negotiations with this guy, but I'd like to think i'm not THAT stupid.

I finally got a hold of his number to "straighten things out," did a search, and found this forum.  DON'T deal with this guy!!

"Major Hanna Benson" told me that he wanted to buy my wedding ring and was willing to pay an extra $150 for shipping to Africa!  He said that he was in the Army and wasn't able to talk to me.  He urged me to send it asap and that his payment would not go through until after shipping had been confirmed!!  

I didn't feel good about this and told him that I wanted to talk to someone...and he gave me this phone number 503-665-3295 and told me it was a friend who was in the army and my not answer!!  Nobody answered and so I thought I would look up the number on line and it turns out that it was a scam!!  

Be cautious when selling from Craigslist!!  There are crazy people out there!

I think this guy is trying to scam people out of money by advertising a rental property I have listed.  He is using a gmail account with my name and his own phone number.  I had a few people call me on the ad which is $450 less per month and $2000 less for the down payment than what I have advertised on a different site.  He used essentially everything I have in my ad except the e-mail address which I have hidden and the phone number.

I'm getting several emails from craigslist, as well. I'm a little unclear about how his scam works, however it makes me very nervous he has some of my information now.

goes by the name of David scott for me. reported it to the FTC Bereau of Consumers. Maybe if everyone reports this number we can catch this idiot.I fell for it hook line and sinker for a little while. I guess I am gulible, too trusting.
