Caller id said "Vesta Corporation". A woman would not tell why she was calling until I give out my personal information. When I refused and asked to speak to her manager, she hung up. I didn't call back.

I missed the call while I was in the bathroom, when I looked at the caller ID it said "Vesta Corporation".  I tried calling the number back but they recording said,"The number you have dialed is not currently in service, you will now be disconnected, INT001", that's all I could get from the recording.

I just got the same call -- to my cell phone -- but
missed it.  Trying to call back gets the same
"The number you have dialed is not currently in service, you will now be disconnected, INT001".

I actually know people in Oregon (the 503 area code),
but thinking more about it, some are across the river
in Washington and others are down state where they changed
the area code to 541, so I don't know anyone in 503.
I think that's just Portland now.

I received a call at almost midnight tonight.  Caller ID said it was "VESTA CORP".  The male on the phone stated he was calling from T-Mobile.  What kind of moron calls at midnight from a cell phone company?

Placed an order for additional minutes on a prepaid phone from TMOBILE site. This is the first time the order page asked for my own phone number to contact me to process the order. Someone then called me and asked for my social security number to finalize the order. I said no. They hung up on me. I then called support from the tmobile site and they claimed not to do that, but I ended up with 4 different people claiming never to have heard of that. 2 tried to help, 2 told me to go to the gas station or walmart and refill from there. I've been ordering over a year and never had this happen. VERY SHADY!!

Vesta Corporation is a legitimate company that handles pre-paid refills for multiple cell providers.

if you received a call from Vesta Corp it may have been because someone else was trying to use your credit card or other personal information to complete a transaction. It is the opposite of what you think. You are the one they are trying to help, not hurt. By verifying personal data without giving out your data you may think they are being shady, but in truth are protecting you.

    No need for paranoia.

I added $20 worth of minutes to my phone card and Vesta charged my credit card $10.40 without my authorization. No one told me that there is a charge for this service , it is suppose to be free.

i believe you are wrong. if a company is not shady than why can they not heip those who have been ripped off? they have every excuse available but no answers. you try harder to not give money back and little effort for the person ripped off. your company cares only for itself. T-mobil does not use vesta corp. you tell people that someone is trying to use their card without verification but then can give no information on who the illegal user was. this in my eyes is a poor excuse of a business protecting the criminal!!! but then again maybe your company and criminals think alike and that is why you are both so profitable while ripping of honest people.

Vesta handles the security information for AT&T. If AT&T flags a credit card as new they will often call to check out your "credit worthiness". They'll even as you questions such as the last 4 digits of your SS#.

When trying to load some pre-paid minutes on my husband's cell phone, AT&T said I had a credit card problem though the MasterCard folks said there was nothing wrong with the credit card account.

Anyway, a woman from VESTA called and was pretty darn rude. She wouldn't explain why she was trying to obtain personal details about my life and when I persisted in asking why she needed this information she said: "I don't have all day!" That's when I asked for her supervisor.

I mentioned to him that I wasn't buying a house or a car but just wanted to add $ 100.00 worth of time onto my husband's cell phone. Also said there was nothing wrong with my MasterCard since I'd just spoken with them and the problem was on AT&T's end.

He was pretty nice about it and (to get rid of me, I suppose) put through the payment request without the personal question. Good grief!

You must of spoken with the same woman who called me. I thought I was being interrogated and she was the opposite of "customer friendly" <g>.

The supervisor (I think his name was Matt) was nice, though. Too bad you didn't get to speak with him.

    Annoyed
I just added 1000 minutes to my pre-paid T-Mobile service via their supposedly secure website and received the same call within an hour (1:56 AM). I do not answer suspicious calls and did not answer this one, but immediately came here to see what's up. I was wondering why they asked for a contact phone # during the process. Strange....I think that I will go out of my way and purchase additional minutes at the local T-Mobile outlet in the future instead of here from the comfort of my home.

I received a call yesterday from a similar gentleman who said he was calling from T-mobile. I was hesitant to pick up the phone because it was a 503 areacode and I don't know anyone in 503. He claimed to be a customer service rep and wanted to verify purchases (supposedly) made by me over the phone minutes prior to his call. I instantly went on the defensive because I recently had my bank card compromised and my checking account drained...and there were several erroneous purchases from T mobile. I made sure not to provide any extra info if this was a scam call. He gave me the 18882783324 number as well as the "reference code" for the account that seems to be making the fraud orders. he was polite but I still felt very uneasy. im sure if I call, the acct reference he gave me is false...watch out guys. I never buy things online uless its from my encrypted laptop. the bank said that someone working in a store where I may have purchased something could have gained access to my card number and used it over the phone to make purchases. How are we as consumers safe when the employees processing our purchases are also stealing card/credit info?

Tried to re-charge some money on my international calling card from Verizon / Att. That call wanted to verify some info then put me on hold to talk with a costomer rep. After several minutes I hung up because I had to get to work. They called back an hour later to verify some personal data, nothing too sensitive. Last 4 digits of my social, verification of 2 older addresses I had lived at.

    Be Very Afraid Of Vesta
Actually there IS reason for paranoia.  I paid my cousin's past due AT&T balance with a check from MY checking account (mailed...not over the phone).  Vesta got the info from that check and has been deducting same amount automatically from my account for the past 2 months (didn't catch it until the second one had been done since the March 1 was done on the 17th and the April 1 on the 7th-they were both during the same statement period).  I went to my bank and signed an affidavit stating that I did not authorize the ACH deductions.  Should have money back in 2-3 days.  Hopefully they won't pull that stunt again.  By the way, my cousin hasn't had a phone with them for a year and I NEVER have so I'm not sure what they think they're billing for.

boost does use vesta as a payment service, but that is all. i work for boost mobile and as far as i know,  vesta does not call customers back unless they have a problem with a payment.
