- AnnetteJust got a call today. They wanted me to go to my computer to allow them access into my computer to "fix" the problem my computer was causing. Bull. I told them to never call me again or I would report them to the authorities!!!
- lisagot a call from an overseas call center saying they were Microsoft and wanted to access my computer to correct the fact that it was being accessed for bad purposes. Right.
- NOLA GIRLGot a call a few minutes ago from "a Microsoft Engineer" asking me if I was aware that they were being sent error messages from my computer and offering to help me fix this problem. I assured the guy who called me that I did not have Microsoft. He then asked if he was calling, Elizabeth Brown. It seems like he would have started the conversation by asking to speak with Ms., Brown if he was trying to reach someone by that name.
This is obviously a scam. Beware!! - GeorgeMan with obvious mid-East accent telling me he was from "shipping and receiving." When asked, he didn't give any company or agency. As soon as I laughed, he hung up. Scammer.
- state agencyjust got a call. You can always tell when it takes a full minutes for them to get on the call since it's robo-dialed. You would think they wouldn't call a number that is with a state agency, but i guess they are random.. Hang up when I question.
- Caller: Scam
- A.M.C.received a call 10-04-13. Told them they were scammers and hung up. 2nd time in 2 days that I've received such calls.

- viagra| 1 replyjust called and could barely understand them. A guy told me Mr Hall has ordered online prescription for viagra and they need my address to mail it to me . First off , there is no Mr Hall here . Did not give him a chance to say more and just hung up
- Caller: online pharmacy
- I. LyonsWe too received a call from Microsoft saying that they had been receiving reports that our computer had an infection and offered to help us fix it. Fortunately, I gave the phone to my husband who doesn't believe a soul in the world. He told the Indian or Asian guy that he didn't believe him. So he told him to email him at his work email (which is monitored like crazy). The "engineer" said he would do it right away. That was over an hour ago. Beware, people. These crooks take advantage of trusting souls. Really ticks me off. Wish something could be done.
- Caller: Wende Rogers
- E LHad two calls in one week, a "Microsoft" person with strong accent calling to report that my machine was sending messages to Microsoft that needed attention. He wanted to gain access to my computer to fix the issue. My husband handed the phone to me because I work in IT. I told the guy I simply did not beleive him and all I got back was silence so I hung up. I was not home when we got the first call, but my husband didn't beleive it either and hung up too, but he was unsure as to whether he did the right thing. "HE DID do the right thing" thank goodness.
- Caller: Microsoft impersonator
- Marcia HoilandHad two calls in one week, a "Microsoft" person with asian accent calling to report that my machine was sending messages to Microsoft that needed attention. He wanted to gain access to my computer to fix the issue. I told the guy I simply did not believe him and all I got back was silence so I hung up.
- NikkiReceived a call from a man with an Indian accent stating he worked for Microsoft and they have been getting messages that my computer is downloading malicious files. They ask to help you remove this and to do so they need to gain access to your computer. What a crock!!!!!
- Peter - Yonkers NYThe same Indian accent called me 2 weeks ago claiming he was from Microsoft Essentials. I told him I was busy at work and was unable to access my computer. He must have called me 9 times in past two weeks and each time I told him I was work! Today We Oct 16 2013 he called me 8 times in 1 hour He gave me a 1-786-600-1685 number to call him back when I was home. When I research on the area code 786 on google.com area code came from Florida. 503-784-7696 comes from Oregon. What kind of scam is this! I told my son, company's never go out of there way as much as this guy trying to call me in the past several weeks! Time is money and money that he is not getting from my wallet or computer. Most likely he would send a virus into my computer to get personal info or passwords that might have been used in the past to access bank accounts. Thanks God
- Peter - YonkersHe called again and he wanted me to download free software from www.teamviewer.com. If you look at website. It free , but beware this software may do more then you think! Do not download!!!!!!!
- RudyGot a call from 503-784-7696 with the name of Roger Wende. Don't answer the phone from callers I don't know. No message left on the answering machine. Thank you to all that posted about this number for me to read it. This happened to a relative that lives in central IL a few weeks ago, but the caller ID said it was a call from New York. She answered it and they were the Microsoft scammers. She had been having trouble with her computer for a few weeks and reluctantly gave her credit card number as well as let them in her computer. She has been cleaning up this mess for weeks with her financial situation. Don't even answer their calls. While writing this, I got another call from Name Unavailable 561-091-6563. Another scammer. So thankful for Caller ID! They are all from other countries and the calls are routed in a way that it shows up on Caller ID's as a USA phone number. If you don't know who is calling then don't answer. If it is a legit call, a professional will leave a message with a number, name and state why they are calling.
- Caller: Roger Wende fake name am sure
- JackGot a call from this number saying they were from Microsoft. I don't own anything running windows. He hung up on me.

- parents w/4kids and pets| 1 replyI got a call from this number on 10-23, but didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it and no message was left. Now today, 10-30, that number called again and I answered it. The call was from somewhere far away from me as it had a long delay to hear the caller and when I gave a response. He said he was from Microsoft and told me there was a warning coming from my computer. He wanted to help "fix" my computer by having me go into the system and he was giving me a program to run. I started asking questions about how I could know he was legitimate. He said his name was Michael Claus and gave me a number to call. In the middle of the conversation the connection broke off. He didn't call back. Seemed fishy to me.
- Caller: Microsoft
- does it matter replies to parents w/4kids and petsIts basically a scam artist at work ....These scamers are not Microsoft employees . Microsoft doesn't go around calling people and tell them there virus (or an error) on your computer (or laptop). The next time they call hang up the call and make a note of the phone number. The 503-784-7696 is cell phone number (At&t Wireless). The best thing to do is report the number to www.ic3.gov and also file a police report
