I didn't answer and they left no message.

My call blocker requires them to identify themselves and to call back.  It didn't happen.  Caller ID only said "Unknown Name."

We answered then there was no one there, when we called back there was no dial tone!

No message left. Indicates Portland, Or.

I received a call from this number with a caller ID of "Portland, Or" . . .the caller hung up as soon as my voicemail message kicked in and left no message.  I have blocked the number.

Got a call from this number, so I called them back 7 their phone didn't even ring at all...what give's !!!

From "unknown" got a garbled message something about: "your credit card....account is fine"....(disconnected)

I answered because it was in my area code.  Recorded voice said, "this is cardholders services.  There is no problem with your account..." So I hung up.  If the call again I will block.

Just received a call from this number on the house landline, did not answer, no message

Caller said my credit card was ok now, but it was imperative that I call this number and press.....

"portland  OR"  on the caller ID.    Message on the machine started with  the  bankcard  services routine that we all know.
The phone companies have the power to stop these calls, but they won't because they make money from the scammers, and from us when we buy caller ID  to  ID the scammer calls.  Why stop?!
Until we come down on the phone companies and break this area of profit motive,  these calls will never stop.

12/7/15 Rare to get a scam call from local 503 area code.  have caller ID so did not pick up. no message left, helpful to know that others have had the same experience with this #; therefore, took the time to add this comment.

Cardholder services scam

Got a call and no one on line. Hit call back and just silence after dialing. Why can't the phone companies get serious and block these chronic phone lines.

Seems like a credit card scam. Blocked now.

Received a call on our landline today at noon caller ID said Unknown. Area code is from Portland Oregon. They say to press the number 9 to talk to someone about lowering your credit card interest but that there is nothing wrong with your credit card. This is a fraudulent scam. Just hang up, pressing numbers to be removed or connecting to talk to someone to be removed will not work. Calling the number back doesn't work. The best thing you can do is not answer calls you don't recognize and not to call them back.

I answered it and it said (automated) this is credit card services. I hung up and dialed their number. It didn't ring or anything. Just a nuisance call and should be stopped. If we need to talk to a credit card company we can call them.
