Has called several times in last few days, asking for "Bill". Today, after I said "There is no Bill at this number, woman stated "there is no message, we'll call back" and hung up.

I got the same treatment from this number.  They called and hung up 2 times first.  Then they called back and asked for my first name.  I said nothing and then the woman caller kept saying "Hello" louder each time, then she hung up.

The phone kept ringing because there is no answering machine attached. I even unplugged the phone but it started ringing again when I plugged it back in. Finally just pressed answer and then hung up immediately.

Albuquerque - 02/18/2015: This is a robo (automatic computer generated call) call and probably originates from a completely different number. it is phishing for information by testing you. If you use *67 and wait for a second dial tone, then dial that number, that masks your phone number identity on their caller id, but you constantly get "the line is busy message."
Don't ever answer calls you are not familiar with.

Don't ever answer calls you are not familiar with. If it was "fat fingured," they won't call back several times like 505-600-3525 does..
