Calls at least once every day to say that an unnamed person in our households citibank account is overdrawn.  Call is automated and leaves only a phone number.  Call the number back and they want your social securtity number.  Nobody in our house has a citibank account.  Complete scam.  Banks don't ask for your social security number anyway!!

This is Citi Bank, not fraud.  They want you to call the account department because of an overdrawn account.  When you call the 866 number, they give the same number as the one on the Citi Bank website 1-800-627-3999.

Left a message saying to call them back. After reading responses about it being related to overdraft, checked my Citi account that I never use and apparently it is overdrawn.  They decided to start charging me a $10 service fee, and since I don't use the account and don't keep money in it, this made me overdrawn.

Similar to other listed reports, calls daily from 505-797-6322, leaving msg about an overdraft, which is totally bogus.  Called Citibank, as directed by message.  Citibank has no connection to the 505 area code number.  Tried to contact Citicorp, and was blown off.

I have no account with Citibank.  Calls keep coming.  They need to stop because they are scammers trying to phish for information so they can steal identities.

I got these calls for 6 months until I found someone who was actually helpful (they were in the checking account fraud unit).  In any case, they said that if you are receiving these robocalls, you can call Citi's customer service line at 1-800-627-3999, then keep hitting 0 till an operator picks up (even while the computer asks for your SSN, which you do not have to enter).  Explain to the operator VERY CLEARLY that you want to be PLACED ON THE DO-NOT-CALL LIST. It's very likely they have no idea what this is, but they will look up "DO NOT CALL LIST" in their customer service computer system and find a procedure for removing you.  It takes about 10 days for the "do not call" to become effective.  You do not have to provide your SSN at any point to complete this process.

It's actually an automated call center.  If you don't answer the call, an automated system leaves you a message.  You may get calls from 505-797-6322, 505-797-6140, etc... basically any 505-797-6###.  I thought it might have been a scam, so I tried resolving it directly through a number I found on Citi's website, but even after speaking with a supervisor (multiple times), it didn't get resolved.  Finally, one of the supervisors asked if it was a 505-797-#### number.  Once I told her it was, she then gave me the number that I should call (505-797-6321).  Once you go through the initial language prompt, I believe I selected option 2 to speak to someone.  I then explained that I did not have any Citi accounts and I wanted the number removed.  You DO NOT need to provide any SSN, just your name and phone number.  The calls then stopped a couple of days later.

Here's how I was told they got my number.  Citi gave an initial name to call for collecting the debt.  The collection company then started calling every phone number that matched that person's name in an attempt to get to the correct person.  My cell number must have still had some old information on it from the previous person.  Very annoying, but the calls stopped a couple of days later after I made the call to 505-797-6321.

It appears that CitiBank is the source of these call. It is not fraud. Expect for the fact that Citibank created a checking account in my name when I refinanced my home. It appears it has been in existence for 5 years and I never received a statement. So, when I initially receive these calls I dismissed it because I do not bank with CitiBank. So, I thought.

I got frustrated enough because of the multiple calls, I decided to call CitiBank and provided my SSN and found out I had a checking account that was overdraft by $10 due to inactivity. MAYBE BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW I HAD AN ACCOUNT IN MY NAME.

I am going to have Citicard prove to me that I actually agreed for them to create an account in my name. If they can not find it, I am getting a lawyer.

When I came back from a trip I found my telephone mailbox blocked by all the calls from these nmbers. They keep calling, they are so annoying! I called Citibank and gave them the numbers They checked and said that they are not their numbers but could not do anything about it.They told me not to give any info, but apparently there is nothing I can do about these phone calls from 505-797-6322 and 866-756-4365.

Citibank calling MANY times every day.  Called the number on our only acct with citi...they said all was fine, and they have no control over these bogus calls.  Today, i tried twice before noon on the scam calls to get onnected to a live person.  They kept saying "stay on line to talk".  Then line went dead.  Both times.  They are taking over my home phone!!  How can i stop this?
