    Joe Call Scan Identifier
This is a scam call to load databases of people to call and rip off later.  Leaves a message that says press 1 to remove from list or 2 to talk to a representative.  If you press a digit they know they got someone to get later, streamlines there scamming.  If you call the number sending no caller-id it says press 1 to remove from list, go you again if you did not press *67 and hangs up with busy signal.

Caller-id says Security to get you to answer it.

Same here - they just called - Caller ID is "Security" - did not answer - no message.   Based on other comments, I think its a robo -ialer and they are hitting the Houston area right now.

Received call at 3PM. Caller I.D. said "Unknown." Did not answer. Will add this number to my Phone Tray Pro program which will block it after one ring next time. I highly recommend this program for those of you who are fed up with all these intrusive, nuisance calls. (And no, I 'm not with the company. It has just made my life so much better, I thought I'd share the info.)
    Thanks.

I second "HOUSTON, TX's" motion on PhoneTray.  This is a relatively inexpensive add-on, can monitor multiple-phone lines (do need a modem for each) and can block calls easily with some great authentic sounding messages.  I've had it for about 6-months, and my blacklist has already reached over 200.  So nice not to have vmail filled with pure garbage!

I suspect a Home Alarm System spam. "Security" in caller ID. Yeah, as anybody would trust a stranger cold calling with a security system. But there is sucker born every minute...

The best strategy is to blacklist those numbers. Only drawback is that it locks out legitimate callers which is bad when calling on a business line.

My caller ID just said "unavailable" on this one.  It is frustrating, I am trying to work, no sooner did I hang up then another came I from another "unavailable" - and again I answered and it was junk.  Stop wasting my time!!!!!!  My # is on a DO NOT CALL database.

Same as almost everyone else -- "Security." I picked up bcs a family member is in that business, and these days, with cell phones everywhere, the area code doesn't mean much. The recording began by saying that this was an urgent (important, whatever...) message and "not a sales call"  (because the system and installation are free -- whoopdidoo!).

It assured me that I had done business with this outfit before or a friend or neighbor had referred me. 1) Wrong on both counts; 2) If I had really been a live referral, do you think I'd've been dissed with a generic recording? I guess they made that statement bcs they think it puts them on the right side of the law. It doesn't. So frustrating that the law is toothless, though.
