506-000-0000

this is the number that Capital One uses to let you know that your credit card has been compromised. They generally  use the 506-000-0000 number to call you and then they tell you to call them back at the 1-866-381-0447 number. You can call the number on the back of your capital one credit card as well,if you do not feel safe.

If this was a call from Capital One, either an 800 or 877 area code would show up on your caller ID. I spoke with Capital One yesterday evening about a bogus call claiming to be from Capital One. Capital One has NO numbers starting with 506.

I received a voicemail message from 506-000-0000, asking me to call 1-866-381-0447 about my account.  I called the 866 number and found out there had been fraudulent activity on my card earlier that day.  But because the person I spoke with asked for information to verify my identity, I also called 1-800-481-3239 (the number posted on CapitalOne's website for reporting fraud) afterwards, and the person I spoke with verified that fraudlent activity had just been reported on my account and the card had been cancelled.  So the 1-866-381-0447 number is legitimate.

I have also received a call from 506-000-0000 and been asked to call the 866 number to check my account for fraudulent activity. I phoned the number on the back of my CapONE card instead and they confirmed the 866 number.
They wanted to verify that I personally made last few transactions. So the 506 call was legitimate.

I also received the same phone call and it is legit.  I also phoned the number on the back of the card to confirm.  So if you receive a call with 506-000-0000 and the ask you to call back at 1-866-381-0447 it is a real Capital One call.

I'll verify for those interested here that most (if not all) of the calls from this number will be Capitol One. As I have relatives that work in the call centre industry, when they phone out to my house from the work area, the caller ID that comes up should match the one I've placed below. This number will appear on your phone, regardless of what agent phones out to you. The call centre in question (that uses this number) exists in my province, in my city even.

Did not get any calls but got a letter today with this number on it to call 1-866-381-0447 but the card is in collection so how could I get fraudulant activity on it?!

This is an interesting number. (506) 000-0000. I do not have a Capital One account so I dug a bit deeper and it was actually my sister in law calling from work. She works at a call center in town and they use this caller ID. Do not assume Capital One, it can be any call center i New Brunswick I guess.

don't have a capital one credit card ... so just beware ....

capital one has an office in new brunswick which is 506 area code trust me i know it is legit.....capital one has 24 hr monitoring on all of their cards to protect their customers from fraud...

So you are saying the number 506-000-000 is a real legit number?
