Last Wed. May 21st I got a call from 506-222-10470 on my cell phone (that is registered on the National Do Not Call listing) that I did not answer.  Today, I got a call on my cell from 506-222-48838.  Both times, no message was left but how do I get this to stop?

Today, I received a call from 506-222-48838 (yes 11 digits on the caller id).  I checked and the number that they called (my cell phone) is still listed in the National Do-Not-Call Registry.  The call had a prerecorded message about being my last offer to lower my credit card rates, but it didn't indicate the callig company's identifty, nor a call back number, only the option to continue to a live representative or to opt out of calls.  I continues to a live rep, since I was curious about the strange caller-id number, and I was asked for my name by some girl with a very unprofessional tone.  Rather than answering, I asked them name of the company, and I was told that they work "with" Visa, Mastercard, and "Cap" (presumably Capital One).  I repleid, "Are you telling me that I don't currently have any accounts with you?" and then the rep hung up on me.  I tried to call back but I received a message that the call was disconnected.  This is either intentional fraud or really poor telemarketing from a compnay that doesn't check the Do-Not-Call registry.

My wife recieved the same calls from the number 506-222-4883. There was a recording at first that gave an option to speak to a live representative from Consumer Services. She said that he should not be calling this number as it is a cell phone. He hung up on her. I am guessing it is a fly by night company. I googled "Consumer Services" and expectingly recieved over a million hits. Hmmm... the wonderful world of intertnet that is oversaturated with too many key words search...

the call comes from Costa Rica 506 is the country code, that is why the extra digits

I got a call from 1-506-222-48838 today and since it was an odd number I didn't pick my phone up! I was waiting to receive the voice message but found nothing!!
Here is my Theory "If anybody needs me, they will call again!!!"

just got a call from this number too, just hung up after about 4 sec of the prerecording

We've received 2 calls from this # to our cell phone. I did not answer the first call and it went to voice mail and used up several of my minutes.  Today my husband answered the call and pressed 1 so he got a "real" person on the line.  She was very threatening and said he had huge credit card debt and this was the last time he could lower his rates.  Eventually he hung up because he could see where this was all going.  We called Verizon, the provider for our cell phone, and they didn't want to know anything.  We also called the local sheriff to report the incident.

I just got a call from the 506-222-4883 number reported as Out of Area on my caller Id as well.  I googled it while it was ringing and found this page so I ignored it.

Just got this call (506-222-48838) on my cell phone. It said it was from New Brunswick, so I didn't answer. No message so far...

Didn't answer, seemed like a weird number so I Googled it and found this web page. Cool web site, I'll have to come back here more often to check up on weird numbers!

Bogus calls credit card or car warranty, I got in touch with CA. Govt. www.RECOL.ca Fraud invest. also have relative US Govt. looking into it. Need to hear from all/any persons who's been phone by this scam artist,

506-222-18518 -- yes 11 digits! I got a cell phone call from this number, but no message. I'm listed in the national do not call registry. I understand this is Costa Rica??? Most annoying!!
