I, too, just received a call. Didn't get to the phone in time and no message left on my voice mail. Seems likely another number to block. DNC list hasn't worked in years. It was effective for a while, but I presume nobody bothers prosecuting violators or perhaps they are all HQ'd offshore so no apparent jurisdiction?

I answered (unfortunately) and pressed one.  A man came on the line and asked me if I wanted to lower interest rate on my credit card.  I said sure.  He said "you have a card with Bank of America, Chase, or Wells Fargo?"  I said nope.  He then added a few others to include Capital One.  I said okay.  He said and your balance is over $3,000.  I said are you asking or telling me.  He said I am telling you and I said no it is not over $3,000.  He said "it is not?"  And I said NO.  He said okay and hung up.

    >> I am on a no call list a lot of good that does.  <<

What everyone should know about the Federal Do Not Call List.

    1.  The DNC list is effective in reducing or eliminating calls from legitimate telemarketers - telemarketers who have registered with the FCC.

    2.  The DNC list is NOT intended to, nor can it do the following:
    -- automatically block calls.
    -- stop calls from:
    --- politicians
    --- survey companies
    --- debt collectors
--- companies with which you have a "business relationship"
--- NON registered "telemarketers" (they do not subscribe to the list, and do not care about the list)
--- telespammers, telescum, and other criminals (these people ignore the law)

    3.  The DNC list is for use by private phones, not business phones

The DNC does indeed work, and is quite effective, if you consider the above statements.

If you wish more protection than that afforded by the DNC provisions, obtain a call blocker device, phone or app.  Google is your friend.

If you wish to report a telespammer, report it to the FTC

Robocall with a recording about my interest rates. When I pressed 1 to speak to a rep, he said I was paying too much interest at 10% for a balance of $3500. I asked which credit card he was talking about and he didn't really have much of an answer, and when I asked how much I owed, he said $3500 or more. I kept asking where he got my information and he didn't have an answer. I told him I have no credit cards so I know he's trying to scam me. He said "wrong number" and hung up

Just received call; looked up number since I had my browser up while they called and glad I didn't answer.  No v/m as of yet.  If they're calling about lowering credit card rates, then spammers.  My bank calls from a known number or leaves a voicemail if they have business to discuss.
