i called back this number and it said disconnected

The caller left a short garbled message that sounded like laughter.

I got a call as well and they were asking for my landlord.  If my landlord had an electric bill?

i got the same phone call and they where like we didnt get ur lelectri reading . but i know that was a scam because my electric company has a different area code

I too got a call from this number.  I cannot recall what company they said they were, but they claimed that they were working with NSTAR and National Grid to lock in my rates for a year.  It sounded ligit at first...but when I started asking questions and told him I was skeptical, we suddenly "lost the connection".  I reported this to NSTAR.  They didn't know of any authorized company "locking in our rates".  The woman said she would forward the information to her supervisor.  She thought it sounded "phishy" too.

Dead Air for quite a few seconds. Then they asked to speak with the person who pays the electric bill. When I asked them to please take our number off their calling list, they hung up.

I've received two calls from this number, one in which I answered, and the second in which I simply hung up when he asked "May I please speak with the person in charge of the electric bill?".

After the first call, I told him that I wasn't interested and that I shouldn't be getting any solicitation calls because I am on the Do Not Call registry listing. I then slammed the phone down. That was a few weeks ago...but I have been noticing that they have made several additional attempts to reach me while I was away from home as I have Caller ID.

This is some sort of scam operation. It is so annoying. I'd love to see some legal authority take action against them.
