Starting on 28 July 2011 (today), I have gotten about a dozen calls from this number identified only as "Family".  When I answer there is nothing there, and after about 30 seconds, there is a beep, an automated voice says "Good bye" and the call is disconnected.

Who is this calling and why are they calling.

Called 3 times in the last 6 hours, every time I asked them not to call me and put me on their do not call list.
Selling something for diabetes, hard to understand, so many voices in the boiler room! India I think.
Couple months ago, same sales pitch, different number.

This is for LC, a couple months back, I think these are the same people that called and wanted to know my Dr.'s name. They said I could get a free blood monitor and they would turn in the paperwork and everything to medicare for me. I said it sounds a lot like a scam of some sort.
Oh no, no, just give me your Dr.'s name and you will get a free blood monitor.
Medicare fraud???? These people have called at least 20 times in the last 3 months, from different numbers and called themselves by different names, always try to get personal info for selling diabetes supplies.

This call keeps coming in and I don't answer, thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Thanks lou...i appreciate the info.  For some reason my original post (posted 7/29/11)which you were replying to has been deleted.  I'll repost.... My Father received a call from this number ...caller was male and spoke with an accent.  He said he was with medicare and asked my father various questions  and who his doctor was.  I was very suspicious.  I appreciate the later posts that confirm my suspicions.  Guard your medicare number like you would your social security number or credit card number.

Yes I am getting the same calls from different locations on caller idea but trying to sell diabetes supplies.  It is a scam.  Beware.  Trying to find out how to turn them in.  Seems like they are out of India.

Getting same calls in OK, no one there and then a goodbye. Does anyone know how to report?

Has called four or five times in a day. Never anyone on the line and after 5-10 seconds compurterized phone voice says "goodbye".

I am getting the same  BS from this number. No one answers me, and hangs up. I dont know how to stop this, but I would like t punch them in the mouth!

I've also been getting these calls multiple times a day. I finally answered today on the third time.
I got a person and before he could say anything I said " what do I have to do to get you to stop calling me."  I had to repeat it again and the SOB said "I will NOT stop calling you" and hung up!
I tried calling the FCC but being Sat. they are closed. I will call them on Monday. We are on the do not call list but it doesn't seem to matter.

Getting these calls claiming  they are from the diabetic association and claiming  they are with medicare. i told  them I dont give out personal information. Got this call today with Family on it and that number. They also have call me claiming they are with the diabetic association. Looks like someone could stop these calls I get them about 3 times a day and more and I have told them not to call and that does no good and have told them I am on the do not call list. Next time they call i will ask who is calling and their name and address of their company and phone number and say what they say.

I called the FCC yesterday and someone is sending forms for me to fill out. I've since talked with my son about this and he seems to think it won't do any good. They will "close up shop" on that number and obtain another until somebody stops them for good. If they're calling from outside the USA I'm wondering if our government can touch them?

This number called everyday, The caller id says Family. (508) 475-1323.  I have not answered this call and they do not leave messages. This site is so helpful. I just got this call from this number, I don't know how I got this call.  I'm on the national do not call registry and I hate getting junk calls from people such as these.

These people have called me before today 8/20 but today they have called me almost every hour on the hour  and of course say nothing and then goodbye.  I went on the internet for Pa. Attorney General and filled out a complaint form.  Hopefully this will stop it  as I am also on the do not call list
