Caller ID said "Home Security G".  Yeah...I don't EVER answer calls like that.  Another scammer/phisher for sure!

Got this call on my cell

Got this on my cell this morning. No message left. Straight to my blocked number list.

I got this call along with 603 214 3679

Both were received today for the first time.

I usually never give out my cell number, but recently (,2-3 days ago,) gave it out to Apple and a Barclay company when applying for financing on an Apple computer. I got great customer service, so it would be difficult for me to believe either of these companies gave out my number, but just in case, I put this information here to help others.

Got a phone call today on my cell from 508-475-1968 calling saying they were with a security company.  Asked if I wanted free security installed in exchange for putting a sign up in my yard.

A few days ago I got called 3 times from 603-214-3679, never answered it in time, but I don't know anyone in New Hampshire which is where that area code hails from.  

I never give out my number so I don't know how these guys got it and I know I'm on the do not call registry.

I as well got calls from 508-475-1968 as well as 603-214-3679.

I get at least one or two calls a day from these people. I never answer it. It rings 3 times & then they hang up.
What good is the do not call registry? they do nothing when you send them a complaint.

The telemarketers call has jumped probably 50X for my phone number. I usually get average 2 telemarketers calling a day. Good old days, maybe one every few weeks. Some even called twice in a role. Some will call and hang up quickly and then calls back again. Probably tries to pretend that someone you know trying to call you. Once in a while they call like 4 am.

My phone number is in the Do not call list but obviously the telemarketers don't care. Is there a law that telemarketers can be sued for going extreme in calling people? Or the government doesn't care because every sale is good for the economy? I read a news that it used to be illegal for telemarketers to call cell phone but the law was lifted. I wonder why.

My theory on why the telemarketers are going so aggressive in the last few months is email spams don't work any more because there are too many good email spam filters and more computer users are aware of spam by not reading the spams. Now, it's back to phone spam because it's harder to block them. I ended buying a new cell phone that has phone number blocking capability. It works quite well because most telemarketer incoming phone numbers are the same group. Some new telemarketers phone numbers will slip through but once I added them to the reject calls list, they are blocked.

I've recieved phone calls from both numbers NUMEROUS times as well.  Not sure how they got my number or how to get them to stop calling.

I have been getting these calls constantly for the past month. Now coming from 4 different numbers. This has got to be illegal. Is there anything we can do? T-Mobile won't do anything to help me block the numbers. It won't help anyways since the number keeps changing.

I received a call from this number for the first time today.  I didn't answer it, just added it to my "Spam" contact.  I am up to 9 numbers now that I have assigned to this contact.  It seems to be a problem that is escalating.  AT&T won't help and my Nokia phone won't block calls.

I also have been getting an average of about 2 calls a day from these people, always a different number.  I called this number back just now and got a voice recording that offered to put me on their do not call list. I pressed "1" to be added... we'll see if they stop calling finally!

Same telemarketer called again, twice today already. Since I add the number to my phone's reject list, the 2nd call didn't ring but my phone kept a record of the call.

There aren't many phone that has the ability to have a reject list. I'm using AT&T GoPhone and Samsung has two phones that has reject list ability. The basic model is Samsung A107 for $10 on sale. If you need more fancy model, it's also Samsung with camera sells for $40.

The best part about how Samsung A107 blocks incoming call is the phone doesn't even pick up the incoming call in the reject list and doesn't use the air time. I tested with another phone and all the caller (or rather automated telemarketer) hears is one ring and goes to voice mail. The phone than list the incoming call number that got rejected on the screen.

I talked to several phone resellers and not a single sales agent said customer asking for a phone that can block numbers. Why is that? I would assume everyone has certain set of phone numbers you like to block.

I've had pretty good luck using Verizon's [free] Block List on their website.  If I get 2 calls like this (unknown caller & no message & complaints by others) within a few hours I'll add it to the blocked call list.  Unfortunately they only offer up to 5 blocked numbers, but it *seems* that by the time I rotate through the slots the oldest number I'm overwriting is out of service by that time.  I'm down to being annoyed every day several times a day to 2x in one day once or twice per week.  I just wish Verizon would give more than 5 slots for number blocking.  BTW Verizon rolls off the blocked numbers after 90 days.

Got this call twice today.   Also got calls from 603-214-3679....seems like same people.  Scam.   People are starting to get really tricky.  Got another call today, different number, and they said that they were "returning a missed call"....then they started asking me personal information.

"Tom with Home Protection". This is getting old, I've gotten around 20+ calls from them last month alone, all from different numbers when I blocked the last one they called with.

Calls, no message, no one on line, just hangs up. Calls over and over!!

got calls from 508-475-1968 six times today  in 10 min. increments.  
Never answered the call.  
If it were someone I know or needs me for business, they will leave a message.  
Adding it to my "Do Not Answer" contact I created on my phone....
along with 406-351-4361, 505-369-1289 and 603-214-3653  
All these numbers that call will call and never leave a message, and call repeatedly on each day.
