I"m not sure, But , I suspect it's Portfolio Recovery !........ I recieve alot of these type of calls. Their either from Hyannis, Cambridge, Salem, or Boston !.... Very Annoying !.... Theres never anyone on the other end !..... Now, I know why my son & daughter in law refuse to have a "House Phone" installed !....

Call at 8:50 no message -- suspected debt collection

Received call at 1pm today. Did not pick up. No message left.

My landline mainly gets these kinds of calls lately, many from the Mass Fraternal Order of Police scam outfit, and some apparently from the Republican National Committee (I'm not republican), My experience with dead lines, and the experiences reported by others, suggests that these miscreants are using automatic dialers and have very few resources to speak with numbers they "hit." Like others, I am pondering what I can do to stop this harrassment -- either individually or as part of a "movement." Both of the organizations I named would be technically exempt from the Do Not Call registry (charity and political).

It is the Fraternal Order of Police.  It's a Corporation that dubs itself a charity.  You cannot use your donation as a charitible deduction.  Less than 50% of their contributions collected goes towards the stated mission.  Policeman I know curse them.

Scam artists called and my husband answered.  They asked for me and he told them I was not home, but he could take a message.  Caller became angry and said "no message!" and hung up.  This is not a political party.  I researched the number and it is indeed a company that calls itself "FOP MA" - not the Fraternal Order of Police.

I got a call today too, he asked to speak to the head of house and I say "yes" he hang-up.
