Another website reports people searching for this number.
They call, I don't answer, they don't leave a message.
So no useful info here, just a general nuisance report.
Caller ID says "Massachusetts", which isn't helpful.

Yes, that is correct.  This is Verizon calling you back to see if your service has been restored to your satisfaction.

I called the number back and someone did pick up and they did confirm it was Verizon asking if my phone had been repaired so this is a legit number.

I just had a repair technician from Verizon working on my home phones today.  The Verizon customer service people called from  (508) 551 0856 after he left to ensure I was satisfied with the service.

They called me four times yesterday and I am not a Verizon customer and never have been.

They left no message.  It would make sense that it is Verizon since they were just working on my line, but why can't they leave a message and say so?  And they are the phone company, for goodness sake -- why does CID just say "Massachusetts"?  They can make it say whatever they want!

had repairman here today from verizon on number couldn't ID. After tracing I called back, but got no response. Problem had been resolved.

This number is from Verizon.  They just texted my cell to let me know that a repair that I called in has been completed. NO HARM!

This is the Verizon repair line.  Definitely call them back if you miss their call -- I did.  In my case, they fixed the problem a day early.  (It happens)

I guess it was verizon repair like everyone has stated. They've called so many times (caller ID) that I've been answering but there is always dead air or static on the other end & after a few "hello hello" s I hang up,

VERIZON -- OBNOXIOUS TO CALL AND NOT LEAVE MESSAGE. EITHER CALL AND LEAVE A MESSAGE OR STOP CALLING. IF I PICK UP, RESPOND TO ME.

If you're calling for a good reason why do you keep calling but won't leave a message. What if the problem is not resolved ? How do I manage it ? I'd call you right back if I was here and/or received a voice mail with tele number to return. . Twice I've answered, but with dead air on verizon's end after my Hello Hellos, I hung up assuming it's telemarketers or charities.

I 've also received robo message that was totally cut off ending with ........verizon services thank you.
What is the purpose of that robo call ? I've needed help with home networking and  acient modem supplied by verizon and have found the website to be it's usual useless self.  The.com site only caters to FIOS   customers.  But Verizon won't supply FIOS to Boston.

Agreed. Very annoying and wastes customer's precious time forcing us to play phone detective....

I also had a phone call from the number 508-551-0856 today. This morning Verizon came to fix a problem
with my home phone. That problem was solved but now i hope i'm not going to be bothered all day.

Call from 508-551-6873  Westborouh,MA recorded message about lowering credit card interest,  Never answer.

This is indeed Verizon, doing post-repair customer satisfaction surveying. The survey has an option to record a comment -- took advantage of the opportunity to suggest USING CALLER ID ON THESE CALLS!
