- CaseyCaller I.D. identified as John H Peterson. I answered; I think he referred to me by name then asked to speak to my husband - by name. When asked who was calling, he said John Peterson. When asked the purpose of the call, he said it was about husband's computer and Windows.
In the background, I could hear another voice repeating similar rhetoric.
Caller hung up when I said "you just missed him."- Caller: John H Peterson
- josephpeus| 6 repliesJohn H. Peterson. Called on my ATT land line. Claimed to be from Mircrosoft and that my computer was identified as sending out harmful virus and malware. Then he asked if I was in front of my computer. I asked him where he was located and for more detailed company ID. He just repeated his BS. I told him that this was a stupid scam and if he persisted I will have his phone number traced and prosecute under the Federal "Do Not Call List" Act. I then told him to kiss my a@#!
- BikerK replies to josephpeusAfter I heard "Microsoft", I played along just to see what scam is currently going around. I was told the same thing as you. The script hasn't changed. I told them, "You're kidding, right? I'm so sure Microsoft has the time and resources to "monitor" personal computer usage. There's no way I'm talking to you." I hung up as the caller was struggling to find his place in his script!

- Linda from Prescott| 2 repliesHave received multiple calls from this number and, even though the number and caller ID show up on my phones they don't show up on my CPRCallBlocker so I'm not able to block it. The scammers seem to have come up with ways to get around the call blocking units but I'm unable to convince the manufacturers - they blame my phone or phone service.
- Caller: John H Peterson
- Beth replies to josephpeusJohn H. Peterson. I did the same thing you did. When he gave me the pitch and said my computer was identified as one that was sending out harmful malware, I asked "Which One?" He said, "What do you mean?" I responded that I have 2 computers, and I need to know which one was identified as sending out the malware. Surely, they would know which specific computer it is! He just started to ignore me and talk over me. When he tried to get back on script, I yelled at him and hung up. Idiots.
- EdwardHave had numerous calls from this number, can't seem to stop them
- bexJohn H. Peterson. This guy calls every day and never leaves a message. Annoying!

- goyagirlCaller ID said John H. Peterson. Call from an East Indian or Pakistani woman (in a room of others on the phone) calling about my Windows computer. I asked her how she knew if I had a windows computer, since I don't have any. I grilled her and wanted to know her scam and she hung up on me. She called my home the day before and did not leave a message.
