somebody is calling people here in orlando,fl saying that they are from federal government giving grant to people that has pays the bills on time never went bankrupcy,offering $7,8 thousands dollars

they called me 12/06/2011 said i had 7000.00 coming to me free .

Received a call on 12/19/11 that I have been selected for a government grant of $7,000 for paying  my bills on time and the only stipulation of the grant is that you had to use it for a good purpose. Then I was asked to go to Western Union and call the financial advisor back when I got there and I had to wire them $245 for the grant money to be wired to me.
?? Is this a scam or legit??

Someone just called me from an unknown number and said I would receive a grant for 7000.00 to use for paying bills, home repair, ect. His name is Jeff he told me to call 509-295-6828 to verify.

Yes, this is definitely a scam.  Do not give these people any money or financial information.

How about if you gave them saving accout # but I really dont use it. Do you by any chance know if they can get into your checking account with that?

It's [***] they called me telling me I'm getting a grant for 12,000 go to the nearest western and call them when I get there,lol that's when I looked up the phone number that laid me here , LOL some people do some dumb ass things to get their kicks!!!!!

This is a scam. They claim you are eligible for free grant money for having a good record. Requests, you pay a bank to bank surcharge of $200 something and head to your nearest Western Union for successful transfer. Per Ms. Denise Warren, their website is grants.gov. I contacted grants.gov to verify this and they stated it is a SCAM. I was informed that they would never provide funds for personal use, request you pay a surcharge nor use Western Union as a way of transferring funds to you. I was then advised to contact the Attorney General office closest to me to cut down on this fraud in my community.

i just got a call from them and its a scam dont do it by all means call the cops and tell them whats going on
