Recording said this was a final notice that they had been trying to reach us that a lawsuit by the IRS had been filed and to return the call to that number.

Did you actually pick up the phone and hear a recording? I just got a recording with just the phone number only and when I try and call back with a private number no one answers. So this is a suspicious call to me!

I just got the same phone call. I believe that it is a scam. If you call back that may be all they need to bill your phone with some charges.

Just received a call from this number. And it was a recording. Saying final notice from IRS..

I don't pick up number I don't recognize, especially from out of town.  The voice mail message was just a recording repeating the phone number.

Was a recording which called me several times saying "this is an official notice...The IRS is filing a lawsuit against you...to get more information call 509-383-4381". I believe this is a scam....be aware!

Received a call from this number and as with the other people on here it stated that it was the IRS.  I filed a complaint with the do not call registry as I have been on the registry for some time.  They have a reporting area where you can list that the caller is making a false claim to be a government agency.  The more these people are reported the better chance of getting it to stop.

How do you know its not the IRS???

Got call from this # left message saying it was the IRS and then they had a lawsuit against me it was their final contact. I called them back at this number and spoke with a guy who said his name was Kevin and his badge number was 1103. I told him I could not discuss personal information I was afraid it was a scam and he confirmed no it wasn't was I calling from the same # called and I said yes. I did give him my name only and he came back with the reply that from the years 2009-2013 the taxes were wrong and I owed $5,500. I told him this was definitely incorrect because I have filed my taxes online and that I hadn't actually made that much money so I couldn't owe that much. And then hung up the phone and told him that i would call the number listed online cause i had found this was DEFINITELY A SCAM.

Because I knew I didn't or couldn't owe that much plus they called my parents # then on top of that why would they ask my name they should have knew it if they had a lawsuit...I mean COME ON!!!

Because the IRS doesn't call anyone with nonsense like this.  If they have issues with a person, they make contact through the U.S.P.S.

Received a msg from the 509-383-4381 number stating that the IRS was filing a law suit against me for tax evasion.  Yesterday I got a call from 843-492-4165 Mr Steve Martin stating he was from the US Treasury and that I was to be arrested for tax evasion.  These people are stupid!

Said this is a final notice. IRS is filing lawsuit against me. Gave this number for more info on this case.

I've received calls from this number on my land line.  3 days in a row then it stopped. I did call it back from my cell and it hangs up after 1 ring.
I've done a payment plan with the IRS before; each state has their own office for IRS...since I'm in GA, why is WA calling me? This isn't real, it's some kind of scam, and we should all report it like another post suggests.

I also live in Georgia and have received the same call from a land line. When I called the number it only rang once and then hung up. As you stated, this is a SCAM!
