Who are you speaking to, telling to arrest "these people"? How would anyone know who these people are? You haven't given anyone any information about a call you might have received. That information might be helpful to others, although it wouldn't change the fact that no one here can do anything about getting them arrested.

    Can you give more information?

Likewise: this post isn't very helpful, as it doesn't explain what you think the scam is about.

Got a call from this number.  They called three times in a half hour period left messages I could not understand, they had a heavy accent. I called them back and they claimed to be from the department of treasury.  I told them they were full of sh*t and IF they called my number again I would report them to the local law enforcement.

I wish it were possible.  But they are located in India and Pakistan and as such outside the reach of US law.  You can protect yourself to a degree with a call blocker.  Not perfect but it helps.

Funniest scam message to date!!  This has all the elements of a scam.

Number one the  message states that this a call from "Steve Martin".  These people either have a sense of humor or they know nothing about US actors.

So "Steve Martin", the caller, has a very pronounced foreign accent and is attempting to represent himself as being from the US.

Third, the phrasing of this message is very incoherent.  "Hey this message is intended to contact you".  Who speaks like this? I have to ask myself are you sure you were really intending to contact me???  How do you know my name is "you"?  The entire message is filled with such horrible English that is entirely hysterical.  Another sentence appears to be "Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge ordered glad to leave for a federal criminal".  I have no idea what he is attempting to say for the "intentional second" time but it sure makes me laugh!!

And what scam phone call wouldn't be complete with the traditional scam line "and help us to help you" - I can't help giggling at such a wonderfully stupid line.  I know they would like to help me help them to my bank account.

I have received this voicemail sporadically for the last six months or more. I guess if the scammers insist on wasting my voicemail space - I have to appreciate the fact that it is so entertaining!

Apparently this scammer did not get the results they were hoping for or they are trying a more believable approach with a different phone number or inspired another scammer.

I received a message stating "This is a final notice from IRS Internal Revenue Service.  The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on 360-566-2902. I repeat 360-566-2902.  Thank you."

This is a female computer generated voice.  Just as bogus - just replace "Steve Martin" with no name of the supposed agent.

    Again, poor English usage.

If this was real, I wouldn't have to call to get more information about this case. I would have already received multiple letters informing me of any money owed and eventually they would garnish my wages if I did not respond to the letters.

Unfortunately, this message is not the least bit amusing or entertaining - just a waste of voicemail space.  The only consolation is that they say it is my final notice.   Somehow, I don't think it is but I can dream!!

The scam calls will end when people stop responding to obvious bogus calls.  Recommended tips:

You do not have to answer your phone just because it rings.   If the number is not a number you recognize and the caller does not leave a message then you can assume 99% of the time that it is not legitimate or not important.  If they do not know your name it is probably not legitimate and they are fishing for information and money.  Legitimate governmental agencies send letters informing the receiver of any potential problems.  Legitimate agencies know your name and address.  They provide a name, title, phone number and address to respond to in the letter.  The websites asking for us to self report these scam calls are very helpful if you do not know if the call is a scam.  Don't become a victim.  Good Luck!

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
