- Laughinglyn| 1 replyThis is another IRS scam number. I picked up the phone because I thought it was someone else. It was the same old recording. I decided to call back the no 509-563-4382 that they said to call. got someone on the phone with a heavy Indian accent Saying they were the IRS. I played along with them until he figured out I was playing with him and hung up on me. By the way I use a go phone that I want to just use up the time on. I blocked the no on my land line that I received the call on.
- 509-563-4382had two voicemails from this number stating they were going to file lawsuit this was a final notice
- Caller: irs
- BobsThe second time I got this number I called back. They started asking personal questions and I told them I would not give that info over the phone. Then they came up with my name and wanted to know if I was aware that the IRS was going to file suit against me. I laughed and told them I had been retired for many years and had no income. They immediately hung up.
- Caller: Supposedly the IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- Tom VAI received the same call, saying the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. Shocked that the IRS isn't coming after the person/people behind this scam. I'll be reporting it to every agency that I can.
- KGI received the same call stating the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me. I called back and the guy with heavy accent said he did not feel like giving me any info on my "case". I blocked the number on my land line and cell just in case.
- Caller: IRS
- Diana Swanson| 1 replyObviously this is a scam. When I called the number back, first no one answered. Then recording said not accepting calls.
Why is this allowed to happen? - GateKeeper replies to Diana SwansonIn most cases, unscrupulous callers will 'spoof' their ID, so the real number they're calling from is masked.

https://www.fcc.gov/guides/caller-id-and-spoofing - peteRcvd call at 0735 this AM telling me the IRS was suing me. What a laugh. First it is illegal to call at that hour and
second - the IRS does not call they mail notice first then send the cops to serve notice. Another BS call. - Stuart DowningThey have called once before and we realized it was a scam. They just called at 9:39am eastern time.
They call saying they are the IRS but the caller ID says the call is from "Out of Town".- Caller: Out if Town
- Linda Adsit, NYMessage was left on my voicemail at 8:30 a.m. Caller ID said it was from Colville, WA. Message contained a mechanical voice stating the IRS was suing me and this was my last notice. They gave the number 509-563-4382 twice in the message.
- Caller: 509-563-4382
- Thomas KozlowskiMessage left on my answering machine at 12:33pm stating IRS was suing me. I was urged to call that number immediately
- UnknownJust got the message I was being sued by the IRS. I called back, now have a case number. I chuckled when the heavy accent on the other end told me there is a warrant out for my arrest, he asked me why I was laughing. Blocked that number on my land line!
- Caller: Unavailable
- ShikitaCaller ID said private caller, but the message was the IRS was suing me....It sure seems most of the calls coming to my landline and cell are these type of numbers....wish it would stop
- Jeff| 1 replyYou have got to be kidding me! The IRS is going to call my cell phone and leave a message that they are suing me? If they were the IRS, they would know that it is illegal to call and leave such an automated message without identifying that they have reached the proper party first. And why would they be calling from Coleville WA where there aren't any IRS offices and from not Washington DC? They should get together with the callers from India who say they are with Microsoft and that my computer is sending them messages so could I please let them into it so that they can empty out my bank account. At least the lawyer from Nigeria has stopped emailing me asking if I could help by receiving a 7 million dollar bank transfer to assist in getting money out of his country for a wealthy client. We are getting more than 30 of these phone calls every week now and the scam phone number list is over 150 numbers and counting.

- Paul replies to JeffIRS - Indian Retrieval System - A world-wide wealth redistribution corporation dedicated to separating you from your money. It would have been far less funny if my 86 year old mother with Alzheimer's had answered the phone and had thought that it was real.
- ChristyThis was my second round of friendly calls in the last year. I called the FBI about this several months ago during the first scam attempt. The agent said to go on line with the Inspector General's website to file the report for investigation. FBI said it is a scam and the filings the Inspector General's department gets, the better for their tracking. IG's site gave information about this scam and had warnings posted.
