Multiple calls from this number stating final notice that the IRS is suing me.

I keep getting calls from this number that the IRS is filing a law suit against me.   But we all know the IRS would never call you.  If the IRS has a problem with you they will notice by mail not by phone.

received voicemail that IRS was sueing me. Tried calling back and call continues to drop. IRS does not call they send out notices. Beware of scam...

I did not answer but they left a message saying to call immediately.

Same here. Called me Friday and again today.  Hung up on them as it must be a scam!!

Recording claiming final notice before IRS files law suit.  Called back and got busy signal.  Could be coincidence, but whenever I answer one scam call, I get many more the same and following days.  I wonder if there is a correlation.  Windows scam earlier in the day and multiple unknown caller and number hang up calls.

I just got a call from this number to.  I called back and the call dropped after a few rings.  Weird

Numerous scam calls today at work and then the IRS scam on my cell. Someone must be pushing buttons at scam headquarters

I just got the same call and tried calling back but it wouldn't go through. Something must be going on Ive never had a problem with the IRS I always pay my taxes so why would they be filing a law suit against me

Yes there is.  The same Indian or Pakistani call-center will handle several different scams.   They handle the tech scams and the IRS scams and the loan or grant scams.   All in one scam center, you might say.   They are all over India and Pakistan.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.  Ignore the calls and block them.

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

2nd call from this number stating IRS is suing me.  Last time to call them back.  This is very annoying.  My husband answered the first call and telephoned me to let me know.  He was upset.  I told him this was a scam because the IRS would not call.  They would send a letter. It is a recording. Don't give out any personal info.

I would not give them or any other unfamilar number the time of day

Went back through voice messages on phone and heard message that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and to call this number. I called and it was busy. Then I came here...(Should have come here first!) Whew! I am a model citizen, always pay my taxes and then some, so glad to see all of your posts.

I told him "Yeah, I'm going to need you to go ahead and call that number yourself.  Find out what is going on, then get back with me before the end of the day and let me know what they said.  I'm only going to deal with you.  I ain't got time to call other people for you!"  He got pretty mad but now leaves me alone.
