I got a call from this number on my Do Not Call landline. I let my answering machine pick it up and a computer message claimed they were the I.R.S. and that they were filing a lawsuit against me. Just another fishing BS call! This number is now blocked.

This number calls my house and my cell.  I called them back twice.  It routed somewhere in India.  Once I asked them why they are calling, they hang up.  IRS scam call for sure as they will not call they will send mail.  How do you make it stop!!! I am on the Do Not Call list as well.

She left a Voicemail but the first part of the message was garbled so all I heard was "call this number immediately." Based on what others have reported here, I am going to block this number.

google search says  * * IRS SCAM * *   Rings once then goes to voice mail.  Message ".....to get more information on this case file call 509-570-1839....".  Received the same message yesterday from 717-552-3666.  Same recorded voice.

Another IRS scam call.

They called saying the irs is filing a law suit. He couldn't tell me why. He sounded to be from india

They called this morning and left the number to call. The first part of the message was garbled as noted by others.

Called at 6:30 this morning on my land line. Recorded woman's voice claiming the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to call them immediately. Too bad these low-lifes can't be caught and prosecuted!

Number listed from Spokane. Said they were IRS and were submitting a law suit and to call this number immediately.
Several calls over a few day period.

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration continue to hear from taxpayers who have received unsolicited calls from individuals demanding payment while fraudulently claiming to be from the IRS.
Based on the 90,000 complaints that TIGTA has received through its telephone hotline, to date, TIGTA has identified approximately 1,100 victims who have lost an estimated $5 million from these scams.
"There are clear warning signs about these scams, which continue at high levels throughout the nation,” said IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. “Taxpayers should remember their first contact with the IRS will not be a call from out of the blue, but through official correspondence sent through the mail. A big red flag for these scams are angry, threatening calls from people who say they are from the IRS and urging immediate payment. This is not how we operate. People should hang up immediately and contact TIGTA or the IRS.”
Additionally, it is important for taxpayers to know that the IRS:
Never asks for credit card, debit card or prepaid card information over the telephone.
Never insists that taxpayers use a specific payment method to pay tax obligations
Never requests immediate payment over the telephone and will not take enforcement action immediately following a phone conversation. Taxpayers usually receive prior notification of IRS enforcement action involving IRS tax liens or levies.

They said I have a law suit filed by the IRS.

This is an IRS scam. Do not call them back, do not give them information. They say that they are threatening a lawsuit and that they are the IRS. This is not true, and report them to the IRS fraud division.

Caller claimed to be the IRS. Said I was being sued.

"Officer Michael Brown" of the "Internal Revenue Services" in INDIA want to sue you for not paying them money they are trying to scam from you.  It was pretty funny...especially the legal threats.  VERIZON could stop this, but they want their money too badly.  Everyone is scamming us...

Got the same call from IRS threating a lawsuit if I didn't call immediately. Same number and called twice. Second message was not complete. IRS would not contact by phone and they would know your name. Did not call by name. Scam.
