Yes I received a call last night from a new york number w a 718 area code stating they were the IRS and this was our final notice that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against us and to call 509-588-7036 scam and should be reported

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Called claiming that the IRS has a lawsuit against me

Caller left a voicemail and said that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me.  They told me to call 509-588-7036 immediately.

I received a call this afternoon. Recording stated that a final notice from irs  from 508-588-7036. Would never return this call !!!! Major scam

I received a message on my phone , stating to call 509-588-7036 right away. They claimed  that the IRS  was filing against me.

April 8th, 2015. Fake "IRS" arresting you if not paying them $4983.76 quickly. Reported them to FBI.

This # has started up again, but only rang once, so I don't know if it's the same scam or a new one.

I had a call from 509-588-7036 stating that they were the IRS and that they were filing a lawsuit against us.  I hung up and called the phone # back.  The same [***] answered the phone and answered it IRS...that was it.  I told him that I received a phone call from this number and wanted to know what it was about.  He then told me that they were filing a lawsuit against us for fraud.  I told him that I was going to turn in this phone # for fraud & he hung up.

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Recorded phone call from this number stating that this was my final notice that the IRS was going to file suit against me. This is a scam - hope no one falls for this. The IRS DOES NOT initiate calls like this.

Said there was a warrant for my arrest. Asked him to take me off his scam call list, he said F____ you and I said have a nice day.

Called and left a message that the IRS was going to sue me and I should contact them for help.

I called these clowns back, and a guy answered the phone, "Hello Mr. President!!"

Message left by the IRS stating that they were going to sue me, they did not leave a number to call and I will not be calling back . I know this is a scam.

This motherfuker called me said I would be arrested if I did not pay 3564.00.

Caller left a message saying that IRS is filing a lawsuit against me.
Said I should call 509-588-7036 immediately.

Said the IRS is about to sue me

Why doesn't the government shut this type of crap down?  So tired of being bothered every day with this phone call.  They actually state they are the Internal Revenue Service and that constitutes fraud.
